  • Näckrosdammen - Beautiful park build for the world exhibition, 1000 of waterlilys
  • Vasastaden - Famous for its cute architecture and lovely atmosphere.
  • Haga - Haga is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Gothenburg. The pedestrian street Haga Nygata is lined with well-preserved houses, many in the characteristic Gothenburg style called “landshövdingehus” with one floor in brick and the rest in wood. Today they house plenty of independent shops and cafés.
  • Linnégatan - Linnéstaden, commonly known as Linné, is a laid-back neighourhood with plenty of local charm. By day a tempting mix of independent shops and cafés and by night a bustling borough with eateries and bars.
  • Andra långgatan - Second Long Street) is a street in Gothenburg, Sweden. It starts west of Haga at Järntorget and ends at Masthuggstorget. The street is renowned for its many restaurants, bars, galleries and record shops. Although the street has a dodgy past its reputation has now been redeemed. It is now a “magnet for creative types” according to Lonely planet. The tourists have yet to find this street but alternative Gothenburgians love the street for its “authenticity”. It doesn’t house any major commercial corporations such as Mcdonald’s or H&M but more smaller venues.

Nils was awesome! - I can't imagine coming to Gothenburg without doing this tour. Nils was awesome, and he took great care of us. The bikes were easy, and we saw so much and learned so much. I would do this tour a second time if we came back to the city in the near future....

Do not pass up on this bike tour - What’s not to love about Nil’s! He’s an engaging guide, knowledgeable, interesting, patient with our questions, and gave us the best lunch tip. The penny farthing pictures on his website attracted me to the tour but I’m leaving Gothenburg always remembering his personality. We went with our teenage kids, who didn’t complain at all, and our cousin who’s lived in Gothenburg for over 20 years. He too learned a lot about the city on this bike tour. I highly recommend it!

Great way to see Gothenburg! - This tour was so much fun! We were able to cover so much of the city on the bikes, and the ride was easy (we don’t get a chance to bike ride much at home). The tour guide was very informative. Would definitely do it again!

A Great Way to see Gothenburg - We enjoyed the bike tour of Gothenburg with Nils. It has been a long time since I had been on a bike so I was a bit nervous (especially about the back pedalling to break which isn’t usual in England!), but I soon got used to it and the cycling was mostly very leisurely and flat and on cycle paths (I only had to get off for one small hill, but that was down to my unfitness - my husband cycled past me, but Nils kindly got of his bike and walked too!). It was just two of us on the trip, so we had Nils undivided attention and he gave us a good overview of the city’s history and sites and spoke very good English. The tour was very good, the only thing that was a bit disappointing was that the weather was forecast to rain and the museums were closed because it was Swedish National Day so Nils was unable to recommend anything to do for the remainder of our rainy afternoon - no ones fault but a bit unfortunate. The weather was better the following morning so we went to the Botanical Gardens (short tram ride and free entry to gardens), which was glorious in early June and would be even better in a few more weeks when more flowers are out! Summary - if you find yourself in Gothenburg, Nils’ Bike Tour is a great thing to do, but we wouldn’t recommend more than a day or two in Gothenburg.
