Visit to the cathedral tower - We loved the Cathedral of Segovia and we booked a guided tour of the tower. Our guide was Julia, and she makes the tour so enjoyable that the 190 steps up will pass you by almost without realizing it. A 10 for our guide!! Stunning views and the history of the tower told by Julia is delightful. Totally recommended

Outstanding experience - Extremely enjoyable and informative tour of the tower. The English audio guide we were given was the best commentary we have experienced in Spain. Awesome views and time to enjoy the experience.

Breathtaking views, good stair workout - Great tour! Our guide spoke Spanish but gave us an audio device that allowed us to listen to an English version. We enjoyed the breathtaking views and learning the history of this impressive tower. Be prepared for a lot of stairs up a narrow spiral staircase, but the guide breaks it up into three climbs, which makes it more manageable.

Wonderful - What an awesome experience. To be in the top of a bell tower. You don’t get to do this everyday. And the views were amazing. But not for the faint of heart, you do have to climb those 190 stairs. But that’s part of the excitement.

Incredible cathedral - We split up and my younger child went up the tower with my husband and the older and I toured the chapels and cloister. This is an absolutely stunning cathedral from the late gothic early renaissance that is worth every moment spent. My husband came back with stories from the tower tour that were very interesting. Definitely worth a visit! My oldest commented that a video game he plays has scenes of cathedrals and he thought they were exaggerated until he saw the cathedral of Segovia.

Views Galore - Having never been in a bell tower before this was a real treat. The bell tower housed the bell ringer and family right up until the 1950s, fascinating. The view from the top was of course exceptional in all directions. Please note that the tour is only done in Spanish and for other languages you are given an audio guide. The audio is good but it is a bit off putting as you must follow the Spanish guide and it is apparent you are missing out on quirky gems judging from the laughter from others. The movie we watched has subtitles but this then meant you had to read quickly to then actually appreciate the visual. With the number of English speaking tourists it is a shame that there isn’t a couple of tours done in English, we are finding this all over Spain though so need to accept and get on with it. This is the only reason this attraction lost one point.

If your English speaking just go directly to the cathedral - We went to the cathedral of Segovia and at the ticket office we asked for the English speaking tour guide and were informed it was only in Spanish. We were given headphones to listen to for English and granted the audible for this English version was much better in tone than that at Alcazar we were pretty disappointed. The tour guide did say he spoke a little English and if we had questions we could ask him and he would “try his best”. A few minutes after we started our tour a Spanish speaking couple joined us and just listening to all they got on their tour their experience was significantly better and what we had expected for our tour. I even called before booking this to verify that one tour guide would be speaking English and they said yes as long as you book at 3pm. If we had known we wouldn’t have booked this tour and just paid less going straight to the cathedral and doing the same thing for less.
