Highlights
  • Meryemana (The Virgin Mary’s House) - House of Virgin Mary is the place where Mary may have spent her last days. Indeed, she may have come in the area together with Saint John. This place was offically declared a shrine of the Roman Catholic Church in 1986, and since then it has become a popular place of pilgrimage. Pope Paul VI visited shrine in 1967.
  • Ancient City of Ephesus - Ephesus is an exceptional testimony to the cultural traditions of the Hellenistic, Roman Imperial and early Christian periods. Ephesus is an important site for Christianity; being one of the seven Churches of Revelation. Apostle Paul probably spent two and half years in Ephesus during his third missionary journey.

Our tour includes Odeon, State Agora, Prytaneion, Memmius Monument, Domatian Temple, Hercules Gate, Curetes Street, Hadrian Temple, Latriens, Celsus Library, Marble Road, Commercial Agora, Great Theather, and Arcadine (Harbour Road).

  • Ephesus Terrace Houses - Ancient luxurious residential villas, built according to the Hippodamian plan where the roads transect each other at right angles. Houses feature drawings showing gladiators, caricatures, and animals and grafiti of names of persons, poems, and the declarations of love.

The visits to Private House (so-called brothel, ‘Terrace Houses’) is an optional visit for an extra 25 ₺/person and your guide should be informed before hand.

  • The Temple of Artemis - After lunch; we will carry on with the visit to Temple of Artemis; which is one of the Seven Wonders of antiquity. Here, there will be good chance to shoot photos of Church of St. John and Mosque of Isa Bey from the best angle as well.
  • Sirince - An old village on the hills of Selcuk famous for fruit flavored wine production and traditional houses. It was once inhabited by ‘Rum’ (Byzantine Greeks) who were exchanged with the Turkish from the Greek mainland after the peace treaty following the Turkish National War.

Ephesus tour - Our family of four (U.S. based) visited Ephesus as a side trip from Bodrum (not Izmir per above) toward the end of our two week journey in Turkey. Our tour guide Isik was excellent. She was knowledgeable and passionate about her country and was willing to put the historical information she provided into a modern context. We learned so much from her and really appreciated her excellent communication skills (perfect English) and deep level of knowledge about the topics we discussed. I highly recommend Isik after our wonderful experience.

Fun day full of history - I dd this tour S,a solo traveller on 17 May 2024.our guide Mel had us all introduce ourselves to the rest of the group and it felt as if I was spending the day with friends. The House of the Virgin Mary was nice to see but did not blow me away. Ephesus was amazing and everything I could have hoped for. Temple of Artemis with only two pillars remaining was interesting. Lunch at a restaurant under the trees was absolutely delicious. On our way to Sirince we stopped at the Persian carpet venue but Mel had us stayed just long enough not to get irritated by the sales techniques of the people working there. The stop in Selcuk where we tasted all kinds of sweet treats was an extra bonus. Sirince was picturesque and the fruit wine we tasted was delicious. All in all a wonderful day with Melike who is an outstanding tour guide with exceptional knowledge of the pkaces we visited. Without Mel tge tour woukd not have been so nuch fun as we had that day. Thank you Apasas for an unforgettable day.

Apagas tour with our guide Gül 😊 - We booked our Ephesus trip through Apasas tour. Our guide was Gül. We had absolutely wonderful time. She gave us detailed description about entire Ephesus, its history, how the excavation happened, gave us small details about things we were seeing there. It was like we were walking in that Era. She also helped us with our lunch preferences and took us to very famous pottery place. She was really kind and helpful throughout the tour and made us feel comfortable. We also got to know a lot about Turkey culture, their food, history, turkey people through Gül. She did recommend few amazing places. Apagas tour also gives you flexibility to choose what you want to see and don’t make you stick to their terms. We had great day. Thank you Gül and Apagas tours

An experience to remember - My brother and I booked the full-day Ephesus tour during our visit to Izmir, and it was an experience to remember! As first-timers on a guided tour, we didn't know what to expect, but our guide, Nizam, exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we met Nizam, his friendly nature and sense of humor put us at ease. He was incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating insights throughout the tour. Overall, Nizam made our visit to Ephesus unforgettable. I would highly recommend booking a tour with him to anyone visiting Izmir.

Gift holiday to our son. - Visited Turkey with my family on May 2023 for a week (and later realized that one week is insufficient to discover the country). We were excited and nervous at the same time, but Apasas Travel made it easy for us. From the hotel, we were picked up by their driver (sorry forgot his name but we appreciate his patience and kindness) as scheduled. We were then welcomed by our tour guide at the assembly point. The tour went nicely thanks to Nizam, who always added hilarious quips after each historical places we visited. Overall, we had a terrific trip and would love to return to Turkey!
