Additional Information

Explore the grandeur of the Royal Alcazar of Seville, a World Heritage Site since 1987. Let its immense beauty astound you.

You may find some locations familiar, as they were used in the renowned TV series “Game of Thrones”.

The inception of the Real Alcazar of Seville traces back to the High Middle Ages, while also housing preserved sections of delicate Islamic art. The structure is predominantly Mudejar and Gothic, with Renaissance and Baroque influences added later on.

It has been, for centuries, the lodging of the Spanish Royal Family when in Seville. To this day, it serves as a residence for the royalty, apart from times when it opens for tourist visits.

This site boasts numerous captivating aspects. The most peculiar one being the Patio de las Doncellas, which is renowned for its reflecting ponds and intricate mudéjar plasterwork.

Embark on this guided tour, which offers skip-the-line privileges, and be awestruck by its intricate allure and complexity!

Must See in Seville!! - Christina was such a knowledgeable guide, and she was very patient and professional dealing with such a large group of people in 40°+ weather. She made the Alcazar tour come to life, and I'm so glad we were able to book this tour. P.S. this tour is a great option if you forget to buy tickets ahead of time, as we booked the night before and still got in.

Tour of Real Alcàzar with Christina Osuna - We visited Real Alcàzar yesterday. We were very lucky having Christina Osuna as our tour guide. She provided us many significant historical information about the Real Alcàzar. It was clear to understand that she is very well educated and qualified tour guide. She was very kind, taking care everybody (not just adults but also the kids) who joined the tour and which I find very nice from her. Hope to meet her again at our another visit to Seville.

Fairytale palace with stunning gardens! - The Alcázar is like stepping into a fairytale, with its intricate Mudéjar architecture and lush gardens. I half-expected to see dragons and knights! The details in the tile work and wood carvings are mesmerizing. The gardens are perfect for a leisurely stroll, and there's even a maze to get lost in. It can be crowded, so book tickets in advance. An absolute must-see!

Better time management required - Our guide, Emilio, was at least 30 minutes late. He wasn’t going to skip the line until a few of us told him that’s what we paid for. He spent too much time just inside the entrance quizzing people who had been on his tour of the cathedral and the rest of us didn’t know what he was taking about. A few people left the tour to walk through Alcazar on their own. He referred to spaces where scenes of Game of Thrones were filmed, which I didn’t mind, but a few times he went off somewhere with a couple of people who were big fans of the show and left the rest of us waiting. But then he also said there wasn’t enough time for us to see some things on the site. We went over time on the tour and at least one person left quite upset. Emilio’s enthusiasm was appreciated, but he should be more focused and manage the time better. While learning about the architecture and its history was interesting, my friend and I would have liked to also hear more about who lived at Alcazar and when. Perhaps a separate tour of the Game of Thrones spaces and story could be provided for those interested.

Waste of time booking in advance! - Paid for a guide and skip the line ticket. The lady who was on general line made us go to back of line and take our turn! She insisted we needed to show our passports - when we got to front she opened a barrier and we all stood together. We did not show our passports even though she said we had to as an English group! She was most unpleasant. It was a big group not a small group as indicated when I bought the tickets in advance. The place was good if you like history and gardens lovely but the cafe was really overpriced. Take your own water. We were stood waiting to enter so long everyone ran out of water. Many people left the group as far too many of us and guide took so long to explain things. I would not recommend if you are elderly or have small children.

Information given during... - Information given during the tour was minimal. I would have like more history and a critical review of Columbus and Spains colonial past/present. It was a quick visit.

The worst experience we had in Andalusia - This was a complete waste of our time and money. Our guide was Emilio, and he was by far the worst guide we have ever had. The tour started 30 minutes late. We had to point out to Emilio that we were supposed to get the skip-the-line tickets; he let us wait in the standard line until then. The amount of real information on Alcazar we got from Emilio was appalling. He talked more about Game of Thrones than about the building itself. Emilio even left the group a couple of times to show the Game of Thrones locations that no one was really interested in (just 2 out of maybe 20 people). Emilio even managed to lose half of our group; they just left, bored to death. We managed to stay only because we wanted to see the end. I would never recommend Emilio as a guide for a historic building. Emilio's English is also not the best, and he misses crucial vocabulary. As for the tour company, after I complained, they sent me a bunch of lies about offensive language (there was none, since half of the group left, and the remaining people were just astonished by the guide's unprofessionalism) and supposed congratulations to the guide after the tour (we just handed him the electronics and left without a word).
