Highlights
  • Not Just a Tourist - You will begin the day with a hotel pickup and a beautiful and relaxing drive to the port town of Tarifa where you will board a ferry to Tangiers (local payment €80 PP). Enjoying the beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean and keeping a lookout for the dolphins that often accompany us.

Upon arrival in the Tangiers you will be taken on a sightseeing tour, in and around the city. You will witness not only the older and more historical sites, but also how the influences from outside have shaped this city into a modern and thriving hub of commerce and trade.

We will drive along the Atlantic coastline to Spartel Cape, the most North Western point on the African mainland, and one of the focal points of Tangiers. The lighthouse was built in 1864 as part of the international agreement zone, cooperatively with nine European nations and the American and Moroccan government.

Continuing along the Atlantic coast we stop at what is know as Hercules cave, these caves date back to the Neolithic period, the cave is partially man-made and natural. The construction of these caves is a marvel of engineering, considering the crudity of tools that these people would have had at the time, and leaves us wondering, did they have help? You also have the option at this time to take a ride on a camel along the beaches.

Returning to the city we stop for lunch in a traditional Moroccan restaurant, enjoying the diverse and very flavorful and typical cuisine of the region (local payment €15 PP). After lunch we will begin a walking tour of the city starting in the Kasbah, with its beautiful museum (The sultan’s Palace), giving you an insightful look into the history of the area from prehistoric times to the 19th century. After which we will show you to the Medina, where you will experience a typical Moroccan market, getting to interact with the friendly locals and perhaps also visiting a local bakery.

Prior to heading back and board our return ferry we might have some free time to shop for some souvenirs, take some last minute photos or perhaps just relax and have a drink.

Once we arrive back in Tarifa we will return to Seville and drop you off at your hotel to dream of your Moroccan adventure.

5 Stars for tour company, 0 stars for passport control - The tour company was excellent as well as the drivers and guides. Lunch was great and also the camel ride was fun. Everything in the companies control was great, they deserve 5 stars. The ferry company or passport control was terrible. The ride was about 1.25 hours, however passport control was that long. The drivers told us this was unusual. If you book this tour be prepared to wait getting on and off the boat.

Old Tangier - Omar was our main guide. He was phenomenal providing a balance of humor and history through a very personable and warm style. I highly recommend Omar as a tour guide.

An amazing experience - This was a truly remarkable experience. Abdel, our guide, was excellent. His English was extemely good and his insight and humor were second to none. The city portion of the tour was fascinating. We even saw a snake charmer with a cobra. What an experience! Highly recommend this tour. All the details of traveling, meeting the guide, getting on the ferry, etc. were flawless.

Best experience ever - This was the best experience my wife and I could ever ask for. Riding the camels along the beach of the Atlantic Ocean and having lunch with a gorgeous view! We also enjoyed walking through the kasbah and seeing hand made items!!

Fun Day in Morocco! - We had such an amazing tour with Bacheer! He took us to the Cave of Hercules, we rode camels on the beach, walked through the Medina, and had a lovely Moroccan lunch. It was the highlight of our 2 week trip! I highly recommend this tour if you have the time.

A long day - Seeing morroco. Just by getting there is great. The tour is intense with long ride in the car, long waiting line for border control and ferry., but it is worth it

Great tour. Look for the email - Rababe was a great tour guide. She made the tour fun and we learned not just about Tangier and Morocco, but she also answered lots of questions on what it is like to live there. Just a few heads up on the tour. The tour is longer than the advertised time. We were picked up in Seville at 8am and dropped off at 11pm. Also, a few days before the tour look for an email with the ferry reservation number. The driver from Seville just drops you off. They don’t accompany you into the ferry terminal. The driver also seemed to be confused on the return ferry time. The return ferry is at 6pm Morocco time. Not Spain time as he thought

An amazing day with an amazing guide! - If you are looking for an introduction to Morocco, this trip is for you! Our trip to the ferry was a bit hectic as we got there with very little time to spare, but the instructions from Not Just a Tourist were very clear so we made it onto the ferry with ease. Once we arrived in Morocco, our local travel guide, Muhammad, was excellent. His enthusiasm to help and knowledge for the area was second to none. I cannot recommend this trip more to people who do not have time to do an in depth trip to Tangiers but want to get a taste for another country while in Spain.

Find another tour company for a trip to Tangier - Very mixed review. Our time in Tangier itself was great, and our guide Omar was terrific. He was very enthusiastic and made us feel welcome. We understood that this would be a quick, relatively superficial introduction to Morocco, but it was definitely a worthwhile experience. If we were rating just that part of the trip, it would be a four or five. The interactions with Not Just a Tourist leading up to the trip were terrible, however, to the point that we thought we were being scammed. On December 6th, we booked and paid for a tour on January 2nd. Shortly after booking, we received an email from Mahsa asking us for alternative dates, "as Christmas dates are quite busy for us". Fair enough. After providing our available dates, we were informed that "There might be a 100 euros supplement since by law we have to pay a Christmas/public holiday pay to our drivers. Also, please note that starting from the 1st Jan there is a price change too. I am not sure how much as our suppliers have not passed their 2024 prices yet but it will be soon." We replied that our understanding was that the price was agreed upon when they accepted our reservation and charged our credit card for the full amount. What followed was a series of emails and texts where Mahsa repeatedly mentioned the potential price increase, repeatedly asked for information we'd already provided (our availability dates) and repeatedly promised to send us details about the arrangements. On December 27th, we received an email saying that the trip was set for January 1st, and that we'd get confirmation on that the next day. After hearing nothing further, I texted on December 30th and was informed that the trip was now set for January 2nd, and that details would be sent the next day. Again, no details were sent. We phoned and left a message on January 1st, and finally got an email with the details around 7:00 in the evening. These interactions (discussing price increases, asking for information already provided, and repeatedly promising to send confirmation details in a specific time frame and then going silent) led us to conclude that we were being scammed, and that Mahsa was purposefully making things difficult for us so that we would cancel and lose our money. Needless to say, this added a great deal of unnecessary stress to our time in Spain.
