Additional Information

We’re thrilled to welcome you on this exploratory voyage to some of the Galapagos’ most picturesque islands. Our expedition leads us to the foundation of the archipelago, to landscapes freshly shaped by Earth’s monumental tectonic activities, with volcano hot spots generating the islands like a blip in geologic timeline. Fernandina Island is known as one of the planet’s most untouched eco-friendly zones, where life thrives in its natural habitat, isolated from human intervention. On Santa Cruz Island, we’ll stop by the Charles Darwin Research Station and witness giant tortoises in the wild. Moving south, we delve into Galapagos’ intriguing ‘murder mystery’, sight flamingos, and snorkel at Champion Islet, one of the top spots within the archipelago. Concluding our tour of the Central Islands, we return to Baltra Island and embark on our return flight to the mainland.

Best way to see the islands - A truly exceptional experience with Metropolitan Touring and La Pinta. From our arrival in Ecuador to leaving we were helped and advised all the way. The yacht 'La Pinta' is beautiful, well maintained, clean and staffed with the most friendly and helpful crew. Of special mention is Gaby (hotel manager) and Joel (Cabin steward) who went out of their way to make our trip brilliant. Of course the islands themselves are just stunning with without the very knowledgeable and willing Naturalists we wouldn't have seen or noticed half the animals, birds and Mating life that was there.

Best vacation ever - We all truly had an amazing and incredible time on our 14 day trip to The Galapagos, Ecuador and Peru! Everything and everyone could not have been more spot on- helpful, timely, friendly, accommodating and the tours and educational experiences were remarkable. The Galapagos, 7 days aboard the La Pinta, was incredible with daily hikes where bird, tortoises, iguanas were everywhere and snorkeling with turtles, sea lions, penguins and beautiful fish - each under the guidance of an experienced naturalist. Our only regret was not to have stayed longer especially at the Tambo del Inka in the Sacred Valley- one of the nicest hotels I have ever visited. In hindsight, we would have taken more time in the country- perhaps one less day of touring Cusco, especially at the end in light of the fact we had already spent time there. Everyone was so very helpful and available throughout our process and we appreciated the work and presence of your “on the ground” associates. It was so reassuring to see that Metropolitan sign every time we arrived at our next destination. It was a trip of a lifetime and you made it the best!

Excellent Trip - Every single member of the Metropolitan Team is amazing. The service provided by Metropolitan is incredible. From the booking experience to the onboard crew support to the guides. I cannot overstate our experience. The Pinta is very well maintained. I recommend Metropolitan without qualification. Of course the islands are beyond description. I would like to formally recognize Melissa in booking and David, one of the onboard naturalists: well done! Thanks for a terrific adventure.

OUR GREAT GALAPAGOS TRIP - OUR TRIP TO THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS WITH METROPOLITAN TOURING WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE. FROM THE CREW, ACCOMMODATIONS, FOOD, "LA PINTA" WAS A VERY GOOD WAY TO TRAVEL THE ISLANDS. ABOUT THE GUIDES, WE CAN NOT SAY MORE OF HOW PLEASANT AND KNOWLEDGEABLE THEY WERE. WE BELIEVE THAT EVERYBODY PUT AN EXTRA EFFORT TO INFORM US ABOUT THE HABITAT BOTH PLANTS AND ANIMALS. THE SCHEDULE IS A LITTLE HECTIC, BUT I THINK THE GOAL IS TO COVER THE MOST, SO WE LEAVE WITH A GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF THE HISTORY OF THESE ISLANDS. REALLY ENJOYED IT!

Outstanding! 10 out of 10 - Highly recommended! This touring company, and every person associated with it were outstanding! From my first email to make an inquiry to the last person to put us on a plane, they handled all aspects with outstanding care. Also, ALL of the onboard services, and employees, naturalists, captains, bar attendants, servers and food staff/chefs performed to the very highest standards! The islands we visited were absolutely amazing! I would recommend this trip and the La Pinta as 10 stars!

Expedition tour was amazing! - Expedition of a lifetime - amazing staff. Clean rooms. Delicious foods. Warm showers. Beautiful views - even saw sharks the last night swimming at dusk. Very cool. Outside doing various activities during the day (all choice) depending on the island. Perfect explanations and in English. Nice attitudes and answers all questions from my 82 year old mother to my 8 year old niece to my 17 year old daughter. There were 7 of us - and we were in La Pinta. Loved the 4 naturalists: David, Cathy, Indy and Dreis! The staff on the boat: Roberto, Jhoel, and Philippe were amazing! And of course the zodiac drivers were in synch with the naturalists going in and out of different types of water and variables due to weather. Melissa was excellent at helping us to organize our trip and of course we had a tour of the main bridge to see and learn how this expedition boat works - it makes 18 tons of water a day! Remember this is an expedition and you will be active to see the animals morning and in the afternoon. The evenings are relaxing! I see some people complaining it’s too much activity - it’s not - most people fly a long way to engage with this nature. I would say - it’s enjoyable and go with the flow - if you can do that then you will enjoy this amazing trip and see what Darwin was so inspired. Come with an open mind and an open heart!!

Wonderful La Pinta - What a special experience made even more so by the naturalist guides who are knowledgeable and kind. The Yacht was also well run. We really felt cared for by the team. This made the bucket list trip to the Galapagos even more of a memory it was not just the special animals and scenery but also the care from all of those associated with La Pinta.

Trip of a lifetime! - Trip of a lifetime…Melissa, our first contact person, was so helpful we decided to use Metropolitan Tours. The guides were so knowledgeable and enthusiastic, the ship was total luxury, the food excellent, Quito hotel before the tour was lovely, liked the eve meeting to talk about the next days adventures and what to expect, the staff were so helpful and helped everyone in a professional manner, and they focused on safety. We enjoyed the photos they sent to us afterwards. We saw almost all the animals we hoped to see. We strongly recommend this tour company!!!
