Highlights
  • Meiji Jingu Shrine - Meiji Jingu is a shrine which has the most worshippers in Japan and is one of the most popular sightseeing spots. Its vast temple is surrounded by greenery and is the city’s oasis which is enjoyable for both locals and tourists. Enjoy the spiritual atmosphere.
  • Takeshita Street - Takeshita Street / Omotesando:
Takeshita Street and Omotesando are both Japan’s leading fashion streets. Takeshita Street, the epicenter of youth culture, is filled with people all year round, with colorful and pop-up shops lined up in tight rows, and Harajuku’s cute culture overflowing. Omotesando will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2020, and as one of Japan’s leading fashion streets, various fashionistas come and go. Come and see for yourself the city and its people that continue to spread trends!
  • Tsukiji Fish Market - Tsukiji fish market used to prosper between 1935 to 1983 as the largest wholesale fish market in Japan. It closed down in 2018 and moved to Toyosu but the historical land of Tsukiji is still appreciated by the locals. There are still many shops in this old market which are busy with tourists looking forward to eating the delicious seafood.
  • Tokyo Tower - Tokyo Tower was built in 1958 and is Tokyo’s symbol. It has a strong presence amid the crowded buildings, even in a city as large as Tokyo. Although the newer tower, Skytree, is a taller building than Tokyo Tower, people are still attracted to Tokyo Tower’s majestic appearance.
  • Senso-ji Temple - Sensoji is Tokyo’s oldest temple with the large red lanterns that have become the symbol of Asakusa. The gorgeous red buildings are worth seeing and the temple is a famous sightseeing place where a majority of people visit when they come to Tokyo. On the way to the main temple at Nakamise street, you will find a variety of stores that sell souvenirs found only in Japan. The area is always crowded with people, no matter the season.

Memorable and Fun Experience - We had the opportunity of doing the day trip with Ayaka. She was lovely from the moment we met her. She gave us historical information of all the places we visited. She was very engaging and kind. She took us to a phenomenal sushi restaurant at the fish market which I won’t forget. We got to ride the subway to multiple destinations and did tons of walking. It’s an all day event but time flew by and it was wonderful. I definitely recommend this experience and if possible asking for Ayaka. She really made us feel at home and we were sad to say goodbye. Also, she took great pictures of us along the way!

Wonderful experience! - Our guide, Hina was absolutely amazing! She communicated with us before we arrived in Tokyo and asked about places of interest and interests in general. She planned an amazing day with a few incredible surprises! It was a great mix of history, culture, shopping, and local surprises. She taught us about the train system and how to properly honor their culture any their Gods. Money and time well spent and a great way to get acclimated!

Highly recommend Mr. Tatsu for an enriching Tokyo tour! - Our tour with Mr. Tatsu in Tokyo was absolutely fantastic! He skillfully guided us through breathtaking temples, helped us find unique souvenirs, and made every sightseeing moment enjoyable. Navigating the complex and sophisticated train system was a breeze with his assistance. His deep cultural knowledge, warm personality, and great sense of humor made the experience truly special. Mr. Tatsu’s excellent English and lessons in local Japanese dialect were the icing on the cake. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for an enriching and delightful Tokyo adventure!

Wonderful Tokyo Overview - This was a perfect tour to take shortly after arriving in Tokyo. We were able to customize it to our interests, which was great when traveling with a teen! We’d never have been able to see all these things in such a short time without a guide. Our guide Meg was amazing! She is really warm and funny, and our family loved her. She went out of her way to make it interesting for all of us. Be prepared to walk a ton, but highly recommend.

A tour of subways and streets-6 hrs of walking to get nowhere - We spent over 6 hours walking around looking at almost nothing. Our guide, Koji was very kind. But we didn’t feel that we were really doing anything. We went on subways, followed the guide and then in the end begged to go back. We didn’t learn anything exciting. We thought it would be a lesson in good food, inside information but it felt like walking with no purpose.
