Baku Old City - The tour begins at the main entrance of the Old City, known as Double Gates. During the tour, you will see the Chain, Sailor, and Cat Houses, Bukhara and Multani Caravanserais, Juma Mosque, and Maiden Tower. The guide will explain the history of the Old City and its notable buildings. Shirvanshah Palace, the jewel of Azerbaijan’s architectural heritage and the former residence of the rulers of Shirvan, is located in the heart of Baku. The beautiful complex includes the Divan-Khan courtyard, a tomb, a mosque from 1441, a bathhouse, and the mausoleum of court scholar Seyid Yahya Bakuvi. Later, visit the Bukhara caravanserai, built in the late 15th century along the trade route of Icherisheher in Baku. The caravanserai has a square shape with a prominent portal and an octagonal courtyard surrounded by balconies and private rooms. The octagonal courtyard served as an open-air hall where travelers and merchants gathered after daily trade activities. The restoration work in 1964 revealed the caravanserai’s large-scale structure against the backdrop of surrounding buildings. Maiden Tower, often compared to the Eiffel Tower of Baku, was used as a fortress by the Shirvanshahs in the 12th century for defense. Its architectural plan, seemingly simple, consists of extraordinarily thick walls at the base, starting at five meters deep and narrowing to four meters at the top. Today, the interior features old photographs and a souvenir shop, with the highlight being the superb rooftop viewpoint offering panoramic views of Baku Bay and the Old City.

Dagustu Park (Upland Park) - The next stop is Highland Park, the highest point in Baku. From the park, you can see a panoramic view of the city, including major buildings like Flame Towers, Parliament Building, State TV Channel Building and Broadcast Tower, Martyrs’ Lane, Crystal Hall, National Flag Square, and more. You will walk through Martyrs’ Lane to the stairs called “40 Stairs,” where your driver will pick you up.

Nizami St. / Tarqovi - The final stop on the Baku city tour is Nizami Street. You will have 15-20 minutes to walk and admire the central street of Baku, filled with shops and nice restaurants. You will also see Fountain Square, known for its magical fountains.

Baku Boulevard - Baku Boulevard, also known as the National Seaside Park, is a favorite promenade for many city residents and visitors. It is the second largest in Europe after the park on the banks of the River Seine in Paris. Established over 100 years ago, Baku’s oil barons built their mansions along the Caspian shore, gradually developing the seafront. Today, the National Seaside Park covers an area of 3,750 meters along the southern coast of the Caspian Sea, starting at National Flag Square and ending at Freedom Square. The Boulevard area includes museums, cultural facilities, malls, and entertainment centers, including the modern panoramic amusement ride – the Devil’s Wheel, which offers a beautiful view over Baku Bay.

National Flag Square - One of the highest flags in the world, the Azerbaijani flag, flies in National Flag Square in Baku. The flagpole is 162 meters tall, with a base diameter of 3.2 meters and a top diameter of 1.09 meters. The total weight of the structure is 220 tons. The flag measures 35 meters in width, 70 meters in length, with a total area of 2,450 square meters, and weighs approximately 350 kg.

Ferris Wheel - The Baku Ferris Wheel, also known as the Baku Eye, is located on Baku Boulevard in the Seaside National Park. Built by a Dutch company, the wheel stands 60 meters (200 ft) tall and has 30 cabins, each holding eight people. It takes 30 to 40 minutes to complete a full rotation.

Baku - Gabala

Juma Mosque - On the way from Baku to Gabala, we visit Juma Mosque in Shamakhi (or Friday Mosque), a popular tourist attraction. It is included in our Shamakhi and Gabala tour. Unlike many mosques, entrance to Juma Mosque of Shamakhi is permitted even to non-Muslims. To enter, you need to remove your shoes, but walking barefoot is not a problem as the floor is covered with thick carpets. Women must cover their heads to enter the mosque, and free head covers are provided at the entrance, which must be returned upon exit.

Nohur Gol - Nohur Lake, located near the Gabala-Ismayilli-Baku motorway, is a natural attraction in Azerbaijan visited by both international and local tourists. It is situated 5 km east of Gabala city, about 200 km from Baku. The lake is surrounded by the Yumuru, Goydag, and Gulluburun mountains. Currently, Nohur Lake is 1925 meters long, 1355 meters wide, with a total area of 240 hectares. Its maximum depth reaches 24 meters, and the water volume is about 16 million cubic meters. It is located 700 meters above sea level.

Seven Beauties Waterfall - This mountainous waterfall flows from the highest peaks of the Caucasus Mountains and is located in Vandam village of Gabala. The name “Seven Beauties” (Yeddi Gozal) originates from the seven mountain roads that must be traversed to reach the waterfall. The waterfall is completely frozen in winter, making it harder to access. However, in spring and summer, tea houses are available on every mountain road, offering guests a tea set with traditional types of Gabala jam. At the highest point of the waterfall, there is a tea house with a special wooden mattress where you can enjoy tea with the pleasant sound and scenery of the waterfall in the background. The tea water is sourced from the waterfall, giving it a unique taste.

Chukhur Gabala - “Chukhur Gabala” gates are stunning remnants of ancient Albania, a state that once existed in the territory of Azerbaijan. An interesting fact: Gabala was the first capital of Albania. Excavations are constantly carried out here, and the findings can be seen in the city’s historical and local history museum.

Gabala - The Gabala region is a place where rivers, waterfalls, springs, sun, ancient history, culture, and nature create an excellent harmony. It also boasts the clearest weather along the great Caucasus mountains.

Absheron Peninsula Tour

Ateshgah - Fire Temple - On the Fire Temple tour, you will discover why Azerbaijan is called the land of fire by visiting the 17th-century fire temple and a hill that has been burning for 4 millennia. The driver and guide will pick you up from the hotel at the specified time and drive directly to the Fire Temple. The temple is located in the southeastern part of the Surakhani settlement on the Absheron peninsula, 30 km from Baku. Ateshgah is a fire temple built in the 17th-18th centuries on the site of natural gas flames. The earliest building of the temple dates back to 1713, and the central temple was built in 1810 with funds from merchant Kanchanagara. It was sanctified by Zoroastrians, Hindus, and Sikhs at different times. On the way to the Temple, you will also visit the Bibiheybet Mosque, known for its magnificent green interior decoration, and the First Industrial Oil Well in the world, opened in 1846.

Yanardag State Historical, Cultural and Natural Reserve - After the Fire Temple, your next destination is the Fire Mountain. This natural burning flame is the result of natural gas emerging at the foot of the hill. The hill has been burning for approximately 4 millennia nonstop, even in rain and snow, with gas roots extending as far as the Caspian Sea.
