Ask for Hiroshi. - Hiroshi was our guide and he was lively and engaging with everyone. We learned a lot about the nightlife and the Japanese social interactions. Highly recommend you take this tour.

Intro to Tokyo Nightlife - This tour was a great introduction to Tokyo’s Red Light District and surrounding night life and the history behind the area. Daniel was a great guide who had entertaining stories about the areas visited and useful information for those who wanted to circle back for drinks after the tour.

Nice introduction to the entertainment district - This tour gives you thorough insight into the mechanisms of Tokyo's entertainment and red light districts. Hiroshi, our guide, was visibly tired on that night but gave his best to get all that information across.

Go on this tour to learn about Shinjuku and Kabuki-cho! - Good tour with Zach to get to know the Shinjuku area including everything that comes with Kabuki-cho, the red light district.

Average experience with Shinjuku Nobu 8pm tour - We went for the 8pm Shinjuku tour with Nobu. Some of the things that I liked were: 1. Nobu had a ton of energy and was very enthusiastic throughout the tour. 2. Overall the places covered were pretty good & interesting. Taking off 2 stars for: 1. Nobu's attempt at gaming reviews by offering some trinkets to everyone who gave him 5 stars and mentioned his name and the tour time of 8pm once they showed him the review. This felt dishonest. I didn't appreciate his attempt at trying to push people to tip him at-least 3000 yen by mentioning that he was doing this full time and not as a volunteer (which he later seemed to have contradicted himself when he said he had just returned from office). If I wanted to pay 3000 yen, I would have instead gone for the paid night tour which starts at ~3000 yen. 2. Nobu seemed to focus a lot on getting people to repeat at times uninteresting & irrelevant factoids after him and while I get that this helps drum up energy in the group, I do wish that he had focussed more on the history and culture of some of the places we saw. At times, it felt like the tour was targeted for future prospective customers of some of the places we saw. Some of us had been hoping that instead there would be some discussion of the origins and the impact of WW II on these areas etc.

Recommend the company, DO NOT RECOMMEND the guide - BAD TOUR EXPERIENCE. I have done a lot of walking tours in different countries, including another one in Tokyo with the same company. This was a very bad tour experience. Even though the guide (Sarah) was nice and the area very different from others in Tokyo, the experience was so below expectations. In a nutshell, if you wanna take the tour, look for another guide. Details below: 1) tour was supposed to last 2h and lasted 1.5h. The guide seemed to be in a rush to end the tour early. 2) she barely welcomed any questions (again seemed in a rush to get tour done) 3) couldn’t wait 3 min to start the tour as I was looking for a bathroom (way before the tour started). And mind you, I am pregnant, so it would have been polite to say the least 4) the first 15min of the tour, the guide focused on taking about subway (busy area bla bla) and very random stories about drunken people late at night. I understand this is not a history tour, but be mindful of facts and bring more interesting stories 5) when asked about food recommendations at the end, she just pointed in a random location and was not specific. Again, I didn’t expect a food expert but since food is such a big kart of the experience in Japan, she could at least have made a bit more effort to help
