DAY 01: CUSCO - CHACHABAMBA (Km 104) - WIÑAYWAYNA - AGUAS CALIENTES

Inca Trail - Begins very early from the city of Cusco, our transport takes us to the Ollantaytambo sector where we have free time to have breakfast at the station and then take a tourist train to reach our destination, which is km 104.

first we will visit a historical Inca control place called Chachabamba (2170 masl / 7119 feet), then we proceed with the ascent to the archaeological center of Wiñaywayna (2650 masl / 8692 feet) which is also our resting point. and where we will enjoy our scheduled box lunch, after a while we will proceed to complete the ascent to the Intipunku or Puerta del Sol (2745 masl / 9005 feet), from here we already have a panoramic view of the beautiful citadel of Machu Picchu (2430 masl / 7972 feet).

After our descent begins along a path to reach the control point, from this place we can board a tourist bus to reach Aguas Calientes (2040 masl / 6692 feet). Where we go to our selected and comfortable hotel where we can rest properly.

Chachabamba - Location: Chachabamba is located in the Andean region of Peru, specifically on the road leading to the city of Machu Picchu, at an altitude of approximately 2,250 meters above sea level.

Historical importance: Chachabamba is a smaller archeological site compared to Machu Picchu or Wiñaywayna, but equally important in terms of history and archeology. It was a place of worship and cult dedicated to Inca deities, possibly related to agriculture and fertility.

Winay Wayna - “Wiñaywayna” is the name of an archaeological site located on the Inca Trail to the city of Machu Picchu in Peru. The name “Wiñaywayna” translates as “Forever Young” in Quechua, the native language of the region.

Location: Wiñaywayna is located in the Andean region of Peru, on the road leading to the city of Machu Picchu. It is located at an altitude of approximately 2,650 meters above sea level.

Machu Picchu - “Inti Punku” is a name that translates as “Gate of the Sun” in Quechua and is the name of an archaeological site located near Aguas Calientes, in the Cusco region of Peru.

Access: Visitors following the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu generally pass through Inti Punku before reaching the citadel. It is a highlight of the hike and offers an impressive view of Machu Picchu from the top.

Inti Punku in Aguas Calientes is an archaeological site that marks the traditional gateway to the sanctuary of Machu Picchu. It is a place of historical importance and offers a breathtaking view of this iconic Inca citadel and its natural surroundings.

This visit as such lasts 2 hours on a regular basis, however we extend it in a better way so that you can enjoy the time and have a total of approximately 3 hours.

Great experience and superb service - We have just completed a wonderful family trip through Lima, Cuzco and Machu Picchu with this agency. I want to highlight the incredible level of service provided by Steven, who coordinated our trip. Always available to answer our questions before the trip, adjusting the itinerary to our interests; tracking our activities daily and anticipating each night the activities of the next day. We have nothing but words of thanks to him. We also want to highlight the guides of the different activities, especially Julia who made us know the sacred valley (Pisac / Ollaytantambo) with her clear and enjoyable explanations; and Juan, who was our guide on the path of the Inca and Machu Picchu, always attentive that we all had a great time, while “educating” us about the culture of Tahuantinsuyo. We highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to know Peru

Cusco with Peru top experience: a great decision - It was a wonderful experience. The guide Carlos Alfredo, a teacher. Entering Machu Pichu through Intipunku was tremendous, exciting. A pleasure, a gift that life gives you. The company was wonderful. From arrival at the airport until the last minute, complying and always attentive, special mention to Pedro Cáceres, a great guy, it's a pleasure to meet people like that. Everything is perfect, just a little bit of the height that affects the first few hours a little. Wonderful Peru

First day was a good paced hike to the summit of the grounds. The second day I had a informal tour over the history - Nilfton was a very experienced guide. Took his time showing me around. Proper breaks during the hike. Plenty of time to take pictures

Marvelous - I want to highlight the work of Dharnely who was in charge of managing all our Cusco tours. Super friendly, attentive, very patient and efficient. The experience is wonderful, it was worth every minute of effort, the incredible landscapes, knowing Machu Picchu was a dream that we managed to fulfill. Our guide, Carlos Alfredo, was very kind to us, he explained and told us about the Inca history throughout the tour. The tour complies with everything they describe, entrance tickets, hotel reservation, transfers and meals.
