Highlights
  • Wat Phra Singh - Wat Phra Singh is one of the most famous and most attractive temples within the walled old city of Chiang Mai. The temple, which is also known as “The Monastery of the Lion Buddha” is an active temple, with many monks and novices living there.
Wat Phra Singh dates back to the 14th century when Chiang Mai was the capital of the Lanna Kingdom, and is one of the finest examples of classic Lanna style temple architecture.
  • Wat Phan Tao - Wat Phan Tao is one of the oldest temples in Chiang Mai. The temple’s first structures were built probably in the late 14th century. Located within the old walled city, just next to Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Phan Tao is well known for its exquisite Lanna-style ‘viharn’, the ordination hall, entirely made of teakwood on a stone base.
  • Wat Chedi Luang Varavihara - Wat Chedi Luang, also known as “The temple of the Great Stupa”, is an impressive temple ruin. The construction of the temple lasted from 1391 to 1475. Although the temple collapsed in 1545 due to an earthquake, it was for centuries the tallest building in Chiang Mai.
The massive and very impressive chedi (pagoda) dominating the area is its most prominent feature.
Wat Chedi Luang is also famous for once housing the Emerald Buddha, one of the most important religious relics in Thailand, which can now be found in the Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok.
  • Wat Lok Molee - Just outside the old walled city center of Chiang Mai, Wat Lok Molee is one of the city’s older temples. The temple that is also known as the Wat Lok Molee houses one of the largest and most impressive chedis in Chiang Mai.
The massive chedi was built in 1527 when it must have dominated the area. The chedi contains the ashes of several Kings of the Mengrai dynasty, who ruled the Lanna Kingdom from the end of the 13th century until 1558 when the Burmese invaded the Kingdom.
  • Night Bazaar - Chiang Mai Night Bazaar is the most famous market in Chiang Mai, and one of the top tourist attractions in the city.
This night bazaar consists of street-side stalls selling mostly clothing and handicrafts.
You will also find a wide range of (street)food and snacks at the market. It is here where we will enjoy a simple meal and a dessert.
After that, it’s time to say goodbye to your guide. You can take a tuk-tuk back to your hotel (not included) or further explore the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar on your own.

Worthwhile evening tour. Highly recommend. - Very informative and friendly guide. We had the best of evenings around the three temples we visited. This great evening was finished off to a drive past China Town and a visit to the lively bazar. We experienced some very tasty food from 3 of the many street food vendors. The tuk tuk was brilliant fun as we were driven around the city. Meeting up was easy and everything went as described when booking.

A MUST DO in Chiang Mai! - Really felt fully immersed in the culture, learned so much about the religion and way of life, and it exceeded my expectations. Seeing the temples at night lit up was magical!! And with virtually no one there at night and cooler temperatures, it’s ideal. Ending the night at the Night Bazaar was totally awesome; we had a great meal and listened to a killer band!

Not worth the money - Our guide was very nice, however his English was poor. Very difficult to understand and ask questions of. The summary of the tour said it was 4 hours it lasted 2.5 hours. We were suppose to go to food market for dinner and dessert. He went to 2 booths asked what we wanted from these 2 booths. No dessert or beverage. Viator we do not believe they checked out this tour closely enough to verify what we would get.

Find a different vendor to provide service. This one unreliable and incommunicado! - Directions inaccurate; tour leader not where designated and no one in the surrounding area including other tour groups not aware of this tour or WanderSiam. Could not reach via email due to no internet connection. Called contact number and no response. Asked Law enforcement in area of pickup and no knowledge of tour. Tuk tuk drivers in same locale-- no knowledge of tour. When returned to hotel and had internet, reached out in response o the emails asking where I was. Attempted to reply and email bounced back. Rached out to my payment method to review for fraud and low and behold email was active, just long enough to ask why redund requested through payment method. Sent response. No further communication from vendor. Had been looking forward to tour; date/time scheduled only one that would work. Failed to provide service and did not provide due diligence my attempt to reach out to my phone. Purchased in good faith and vendor did not follow through. Would not book with vendor as meeting place inaccurate, communication unavailable and allow up nonexistent. Will await a refund for breach of contract and not available/open to resolution without complaint filing.
