Experience the thrill of a truffle hunting expedition guided by an expert. Explore the enigmatic realm of Istria’s most precious gem. Learn to prepare the ultimate truffle dish. Enjoy traditional Istrian pasta, ‘fuži’, topped with truffles and accompanied by delicious Istrian Malvasia wine in good company, an experience beyond comparison!
Widely cherished by top chefs, the Istrian truffle is a gastronomic extravagance. Join us to uncover its mysteries: the hunting process, why dogs are favoured for the search, the different types of truffles available, the reasons behind its exorbitant pricing, the history of the Istrian hunt (including some illicit practices), and much more.
Following the hunt, we will prepare and feast on a classic Istrian pasta dish, ‘fuži’ with truffles. We will savour our meal with top-notch local Malvasia wine, learn to distinguish authentic truffle dishes from those using synthetic flavours, and enjoy warm camaraderie under the pergola of a traditional Istrian household.
