Top Tour - The tour with Peter more than exceeded expectations. We were picked up on time and made some very interesting stops. Our driver Peter gave us a lot of information, was humorous and professional. He was open and relaxed. The highlight was when I forgot my jacket on the bus at the end of the tour and Peter drove back to bring me the jacket. TOP service, thank you very much!! We can only recommend this tour to others, these are things you should see in the Algarve.

Beyond the Beaches: A Magical Day Exploring the Algarve with Vasco - Our recent Algarve vacation took a delightful turn thanks to a day trip booked through Hotel Auramar and run by the fantastic Portitours company. From pickup at the hotel to drop-off in the early evening, it was a seamless and unforgettable experience. The star of the show, however, was our guide, Vasco. His passion for the Algarve was contagious, and his knowledge of the region's history, culture, and hidden gems was truly impressive. He expertly weaved together historic lessons about cork trees, the development of the Algarve, and fascinating local stories, making every sight come alive. The day wasn't just about enriching our minds, though. Vasco took us on a breathtaking journey through the heart of the Algarve. We explored charming villages, marveled at stunning coastal views, and even ventured into the mountains. A particularly delightful stop was a chance to savor some locally produced Aguardente – a true treat for our taste buds! We couldn't resist picking up a couple of bottles as souvenirs. Lunch was another highlight. We were treated to a phenomenal meal at a local restaurant, where the freshest, locally sourced ingredients danced on our plates. Each bite was a delicious testament to the culinary magic of the Algarve. By the end of the day, we returned to the hotel with hearts brimming with happy memories. We had not only explored breathtaking landscapes but also gained a deeper appreciation for the Algarve's rich history and culture. A huge thank you to Vasco at Portitours, whose expertise and enthusiasm made it a truly magical day for our whole family. We highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for a fun, informative, and delicious way to discover the Algarve's hidden gems!

Magnificent Scenery. Knowledgeable and Caring Guide - This is an amazing small group tour that hits many of the Algarve's highlights. Leaving from Lagos in the company of Vasco, our expert driver and guide, our first stop was Silves, where I toured the impressive Moorish Fort while others visited the cathedral. Another highlight there was seeing a colony of storks in their huge nexts beside the road into town.Next, through impressive countryside, we arrived in Caldas de Monchique, a tiny, secluded village with a miraculous healing hot springs and spa. Oh to stay there longer! However, more wonders awaited as we drove a narrow, winding road up to 900 metres - the highest point in the Algarve with views over the whole area. Not done yet, we descended to Marmelete for a tastey lunch featuring local produce. Then on to Costa Vicentina. This is a magnificent National Park where the wind blows hard enough to bend the Umbrella Pines and the beaches go on for ever. Finally, we arrived at Cape St.Vincent, the southwestern point of Europe, with its historic lighthouse, What a day! Many thanks to Vasco for all his kindness and attention to our needs. In sharing his knowledge of everything we saw, he made the tour a very rich experience for me. I am so glad I took it!

The facets of the Algarve - Day where we had an appointment with nature in various forms. Richness of landscapes, colors, flavors. Our guide Vasco was keen to help us discover this region with humor and good humor. We have had many explanations, historical, geographical and economic. A day that remains special in our stay.

Ask for Tom Tom to drive - This is a great tour especially if you get TOM TOM to drive! He's knowledgable and funny and knows his way around. Took us for lunch at a locals restaurant, stopped at amazing cliffs over the ocean, sampled fire water, learned about the eucalyptus trees and their oils and so much more. Tom Tom made it so much fun.

Algarve a la carte tour - We booked the Algarve a la carte tour through the Cerro mar garden Hotel representative in Albufeira. Our tour guide was Tom. He was absolutely amazing! His knowledge of the various sites and destinations was very impressive. As we drove from one town/site to the other, Tom would give us in-depth details ( historical, cultural, geographical) and that’s what made the tour so interesting and fun. Tom’s good sense of humour was an added plus to the whole tour. I must admit that standing near the enormous cliffs at Cape st. Vincent and Sagres was the highlight of our tour.

Excellent journey between land and sea for the day. - Magnificent landscape inland and near the west coast of the sea where the geographical setting has remained rather wild and authentic. Impressive views, discovery of the trees used to make cork, honey tasting, and meeting with two wonderful guides Carlos and Dachou. (Possible spelling error!). We appreciated being able to communicate in French and noticed that they spoke fluent English. Catering included with a very generous and delicious menu. We recommend the skills and friendliness of the guides.
