Highlights

St Barts is known as the Jewel of the Caribbean and you’ll find out why when you sail there from St Maarten. You’ll have free time to explore St Barts independently, take a guided tour, go shopping or just relax on one of the island’s pristine beaches.

St Barts is just a 45-minute sail from St Maarten’s Pelican Marina. Departing Simpson Bay, you’ll arrive in Gustavia Harbor, the hub of activity in St Barts. Sidewalk cafes offer crepes and croissants for breakfast, car rentals meet the boat, the taxi stand is a few feet away, and boutiques are open for business. It is advisable to have a rental car or taxi arranged before arrival in St Barts. During the December to March high season, taxis are limited.

The exceptional island of St Barts has white sandy beaches, great snorkeling locations, great restaurants and a unique shell museum. It’s a day guaranteed to entertain, crammed with sights and delights!

Enjoy lunch at a local burger shack, or go for fine dining at one of the exclusive beach side hotels. Many of the shops in Gustavia may close over the lunchtime period, so it’s recommended to go shopping in the morning.

Check-in for the boat is at 3:45pm for the 4:00pm departure. Arrive back to Pelican Marina at approximately 4:45pm.

Day trip to St. Barts - It was a pleasant trip on the ferry going to and from St Barts. I did not experience any unusual turbulence nor anyone being sea sick. The crew members were polite and friendly.

Worth the Ride! - The trip was great and worth it! The port had its own parking so that made things a lot easier. If your trip is during the weekday, plan ahead and consider traffic! We left at 7:15 from Grand Case and we got to the check in at 8:20AM. Check in was smooth and the crew members were all super nice! The boat was going against the waves getting to St-Barts so it was rough! A lot of people got sick. We took Gravol and the crew offered gingerale during the ride so we were ok! At St-Barts, we planned ahead and rented a car for the day. We walked around the shops, drove around and got to visit a few beaches in the island. We left the island at 4PM and the boat ride was a lot smoother. People were exhausted and most of them napped. The crew and the captain were very professional and I would definitely book with Viator again!

Honest Review - I gave 4 stars because the ferry was quite crowded and considering outside temps very sweaty. Some people really need to reserve 2 seats. I have been on this trip 3 times. The first 2 times (May ‘23 & Feb ‘24) were both quite pleasant as the ferry was not overly crowded. Warning: before booking, seriously consider not taking the ferry if you think you might experience motion sickness at all. Crew of the Edge II are great. St. BART’s is beautiful. Enjoy!

A So-so Day - The trip was ok - that's it. The problem was that we had not pre-planned anything to do - nor was it offered to us. We walked around abit in the extremely high priced stores and then they closed at noon. It was so hot!! We were perspiring and we finally made our way to Shell Beach which was lovely but hard to walk on with out beach shoes. We stayed in the water a long time and decided not to go to the expensive restaurant there. We walked back for the ferry and waited for about 30 minutes - nothing was open around the dock and we were so thirsty! We were glad to get on the boat and get a beer! The guys were great on the boat but I can't really recommend this trip as there was nothing to do. Not worth the price!!

More cruiseliners please! - Apparently there is only one boat used for this cruise. The boat was incapacitated and therefore the trip was canceled. Although we took another cruise, we never got to St Barts, which was to be our destination.
