Wonderful day! - Excellent tour. Of course we wanted to see the Bran Castle, but Peles was wonderful and the city of Brasov is a must see. Our guide, Emanuel, was wonderful and gave us lots of information about the country and the places we visited- including suggestions for lunch in one of the many lovely restaurants in Brasov. We then wandered the square visiting the numerous shops. It was a great day!

Perfect experience! Highly recommended! - The whole experience was excellent. We are a family of 5 with 3 teens, and every one of us agreed that this was our favorite activity on our vacation. Emanuel picked us up at our apartment with water and snacks. He is extremely knowledgeable about Romanian history, and I learned a lot about empires and monarchies and such. We were able to park much closer than the large bus tour groups. The vehicle (a minivan) was very comfortable and spacious. I HIGHLY recommend booking this excursion. It was flexible, informative, relaxing, and overall wonderful.

Day trip guided by Emanuel - Emanuel, our tour guide and driver was excellent. There were 4 of us. He was on time and very attentive. He made sure we were comfortable from the temperature in the car, to snacks, water, bathroom breaks, and enough time to visit at each location. He spoke perfect English. He answered all our questions, told us about the history of Romania and each destination. The landscaping was breathtaking. Each castle had its own beauty. The old town of Brasov was beautiful. We had a wonderful late lunch at Basarabia in Bucate restaurant and it was delicious. The trip takes longer than advertised due to traffic so don't make dinner plans in Bucharest.

Amazing day in Transylvania - Emanuel was a super professional and friendly guide who arrived on time at our hotel for a 12 hour tour of Peleş castle, the town of Braşov ( where we had a lovely lunch) and then Bran Castle. He planned strategically so we could avoid massive crowds of kids off for Green Week, first doing Peleş Castle before the hordes of students arrived then going to Braşov for lunch and ending with Bran/Dracula castle. He was a safe, excellent driver and provided a large bottle of water per person and bags of snacks and sweets for the long ride. Also during the drive he provided interesting and thoughtful historical information on România and the Transylvania area where we were heading.

Fantastic private day trip - Fantastic day trip privately hosted by Emmanuel who is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great chat about all things Romania on the drive. One thing to note is that it’s a good 2 hour drive from Bucharest, we left at 9am but I would suggest leaving earlier if you can (Emmanuel is flexible with pick up times). The journey back encounters extra traffic so roughly 3 hours. Think about taking some extra snacks and water with you. We had a wonderful lunch in Brasov to finish. Overall a great and day and would highly recommend!!

Great family tour! - We had a great day with Emmanuel! Learned a lot from the moment to set foot in the van! He was wonderful with the kids too! It’s hard keeping a 16, 12 and 7 year old all engaged learning history but he did it! Highly recommend for family!

Amazing day trip - Truly one our favourite experiences. Emanuel creates a customised itinerary just for you. He finds out what is important for you to see and arranges the trip around your interests. He provides information about the areas you drive through and helps you with background before entering the castles. He even has water, snacks and treats for you in the car. Our whole family loved the trip.

Great Guide but Room for Improvement - Firstly I want to say that this review has nothing to do with the tour guide, Emanuel, who was excellent. He really made the entire trip enjoyable. I am giving this review 3 stars for the following reasons: We have a family of 4 adults. We were driven around in what rivals a Toyota Corolla. Even though it was a station wagon, there was absolutely no recline. The drive is 6 hours round trip and we were extremely crammed the entire ride, it was extremely uncomfortable. Not only that but we found out that this tour operates a Mercedes Van for a group of 5 people. So we were 1 person short of having a comfortable ride. I honestly would have paid a bit more just to be comfortable and not in pain thereafter. The ride back is a straight 3 hours in such a crammed space that we had to cancel our nights dinner reservation because we were so exhausted from the tour. For almost $400 USD I would expect a comfortable ride. We took Ubers 45 min-1 hour away that we paid $30 for in large SUVs or 5 series BMW so really can’t justify. The drivers excuse was that all cars in Europe are small. That is false since again we took many Ubers during our trip that were much larger. Secondly, the amount we paid didn’t justify the experience. Again, Emanuel was fantastic and we tipped him accordingly, but for almost $400 USD to be in an extremely crammed car with no entrance fees or anything included was not worthwhile. I recommend a disclaimer on the size of the car and an option to upgrade. Also, Peleş Castle was under construction and we couldn’t really enjoy it. Not anything in the tour operators control but would have been nice if they provided a disclaimer. We liked the Bran Castle. Braşov was ok, the driver couldn’t really find parking so it took a while for us. He should have dropped us off and then found parking and met us. Just these small details between what would be a fantastic trip and mediocre.
