Professional Trekking Company - Beautiful Scenery and Cultural Experience - Ashmita Trek and Tours is an experienced and professional company that I would use again if given the opportunity or if we return to Darjeeling. We did the 6-day Singalila Ridge Trek with Pemba and the 1-day Walking City Tour with Sangay. The 1-day Walking City Tour with Sangay was a great way to see Darjeeling in the little time we had to explore the city. Sangay was a friendly and knowledgeable guide who showed us the top sites and places we wanted to see. It was interesting to learn about Darjeeling's history and different cultural perspectives. Visiting the Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre with Sangay was great as he could also speak the language, making our time enjoyable with the locals. The day walk was a great way to help us acclimatise to the altitude before the next trek. The 6-day Singalila Ridge Trek was well organised and went smoothly. Pemba was kind and very experienced as a trekking guide. We enjoyed Pemba's company over the six days, and Pemba made every effort to look after us. Unfortunately, I came down with a cold on day 5, and Pemba took time to help me, such as finding some Vicks and providing hot water to soak my feet in at the end of the day. I was very appreciative of his help. Pemba was attentive and ensured all our needs were met over the whole 6 days, even without us asking for much. The Singalila trek is worth doing. It offers spectacular scenery and allows an experience of the culture and way people live in this part of India. Each day is different, from walking through beautiful lush forests to trekking over alpine terrain with views of some of the world's largest mountains to walking through farmland and beautiful villages. We stopped at tea houses regularly for tea and/or food, which was fantastic. We were fed a lot on the trek, but all the food was homemade, freshly cooked and healthy meals that we enjoyed. We recommend Ashmita Trek and Tours and hope to return one day to do the trekking in Sikkim.

Memorable experience indeed! - My husband and I were taken back by the wonderful service accorded by Rupesh and the Ashmita team. Attentive to our needs, polite, professional; coupled with their gentle and positive manner made the whole trip so memorable. (Especially for me, as I am the least fit among the group! :)) The trek itself is beautiful with different sceneries everyday. The Black Forest, the Ridge, open spaces, running water and villages with friendly residents are just wonderful experiences that we will cherish. We even had very friendly dogs accompanying us for most of the trek. All in all, thank you Ashmita, for job well done!

Amazing trek with Ashmita - What an experience! I really enjoyed my 6-day trek Singalila Ridge with ashmita. Everything went smoothly, perfectly organized. Our guide Rupesh was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, views were outstanding, weather was great, we had so much fun playing cards at night with everyone. This hike is beautifully diverse, every day welcomes you with different terrain, scenery, etc. Warm hospitality from the locals, beautiful villages and tons of flowers ! Loved everything about this trek, highly recommend!

Best Local Trekking Company in Darjeeling! - This is our second Trek with Ashmita Trek & Tours my partner and I did the Darjeeling Sandakphu Singalila Ridge Trek for 6 days on customise private Trek. We are fully satisfied with this trip. our guide pemba sherpa was so incredibly attractive and kind. As we was slower then the rest of the trekkers Pemba always watched for us and made sure we was safe and comfortable. our accomodation where always great and with local family and the meals was great and hygienic. and the singalila ridge trek was fantastic. we had fairwell dinner with Subash the owner of Ashmita Trek after the trek which was a great gesture on there behalf. Experience of a lifetime! - I have been lucky enough to trek in South America, Europe and North Africa and this was up there with the best! Ashmita Trek And Tours is an excellent company. From my first contact with them they communicated promptly and clearly and everything was very well organised. My guide Tenzi was amazing in every way. He is a great professional, friendly, safety orientated and shared his knowledge of the mountains and culture which enriched the whole experience. I was stretched but had an amazing time. The views of the high mountains were a highlight as was sunrise at dawn on Singalila Ridge.

Incredible experience! - We did the 6 day Sandakphu - Phalut trek with guide Pemba Sherpa and had an incredible experience! Pemba was the best guide we could have asked for. Everything (accomodation, food, itinerary) was perfectly organized. Highly recommended!

We experienced Sandakphu and the mountain views by Jeep and loved it - We did the Jeep tour 2 nights and 3 days to sandakphu. We were lucky, we had great sunrise views of the mountains at Tonglu and sandakphu. The scenery along the way was beautiful. Our guide Dawa Lama looked after us so well, counselling us about altitude sickness, which we didn’t get. We visited Chitrey on the way. The roads were rough for the last leg of the journey (road gangs are working on them, so they will improve) and our driver Sandeep drove skilfully and safely. We loved our Sandakphu trip.

Stunning views and amazing villages - Our guide Rupesh was all time! The Ashmita team was very professional, and showed a lot of care in making sure we had the best experience, even adapting quickly to changing weather, trail conditions, etc. I would highly recommend the 6 day trek to soak in all that the Singalila Ridge has to offer.

Memorable trek - The trek was great - exceeding my expectations. It was tough at times but very rewarding. Highlights for me: - The views across to Mt Kanchenjuga from Sandakphu - stupendous - Dipping in and out of Nepal and the various checkpoints along the way; most interesting - The tea breaks (and overnight huts) in the various mountain villages Thanks very much to Dawa, our guide, for his patience (I was rather slow at times !) and for the great photos he took along the way. I did the trek with my son and it was a great way to just to spend time with him on a trip like this - so much better than sitting by a swimming pool ! Thanks also to Ashmita for their excellent organisation and communications.
