Highlights
  • Sintra Mountains - Sintra and Cascais are small villages just outside of Lisbon, and they’re the real “must-do” tour when visiting Lisbon. Located in a beautiful protected area, the Sintra Hills are the home of some of the most beautiful Palaces and Castles.
  • Park and National Palace of Pena - Pena Palace is the most iconic Palace in Sintra. It is considered the most beautiful Castle in Europe, and it’s a true pleasure to walk in its Park, or just admire the views from its balconies, with Lisbon in the horizon.
  • Sintra Municipality - Enjoy some free time to lunch and explore Sintra Village, which looks just like a postcard town.

Taste the local pastries, check some souvenirs or just enjoy the ambience there.

  • Cabo da Roca - Visit Roca Cape (Cabo da Roca), the westernmost piece of land in Europe.

Free time to admire the views and take some photos!

  • Cascais - You’ll have free time to explore Cascais, its bay and the surrounding streets.

The once fishing village that turned into home of kings in exile, and one of the espionage centers during World War II, Cascais is now a pleasant beach town, where people walk the streets while enjoying the sun.

  • Estoril - Drive through the Marginal Road, always along the coast, enjoying amazing views over the ocean, first, and the Tagus River, arriving in Lisbon.

Sintra and Cascais day trip from Lisbon. - This tour was amazing. Our tour guy Lorenzo was incredibly good. We had a handicap person in our group, and he helped this person to move around in very hard road conditions with up and down stone roads. The Pena Palace is a must-see place. Overall, it was a very good day trip to Sintra and Cascais from Lisbon.

Good tour combining Sintra and Cascais - Small group tour with Around lisbon. Our guide Joao ( John) picked us up at our hotel . We had 5 others from different countries in a comfortable mercedes van. Doing Sintra and Cascais in day is best done driving with a tour operator. Both places must be seen if you are in this region. We were happy we took this tour

Fantastic day tour to Sintra and Cascais! - I had a really wonderful day tour with Around Lisbon! Hotel pick-up and drop-off were included in the price of my tour, which was immensely helpful for me. Pick-up time was communicated approximately 1-2 days prior to the tour and was precisely on time. Our itinerary was excellent and the group was small (8 people, which is the maximum) - first, after leaving Lisbon, we drove approximately 45 minutes to reach Sintra and the magical National Palace of Pena! We were given lots of time to look around inside and take pictures in the gardens and the palace grounds. Our entry was timed perfectly so we didn't have to wait. Next, we stopped in Sintra for 90 minutes of free time. I decided to go to Quinta de Relogio with my free time, which was well worth it! We then proceeded to drive 30 or so minutes to the most Western point of Europe to see spectacular views of the rocks meeting the ocean (Cabo de Roca). We were given about 15 minutes for photos which was ample time! Our last stop of the day was Cascais, a lovely and laidback beach resort town another 25 minutes by car. We were given 45 minutes there to wander around! From there, we drove back to Lisbon, and I arrived back to my accommodation just after 7:00pm. Nuno Diego, our guide, was really amazing - very knowledgeable, funny and personable! He was keen to share about Portugal, and his hometown of Sintra and was equally keen to learn about his clients! I had a wonderful tour, and I highly recommend this tour if you have extra days in Lisbon!

Perfect day tour! - Fantastic day, thanks! Excellent guides, Viator is the best source for small group tours out there. In the 10 plus tours we've taken with them not one has been a disappointment.

Extremely helpful guide - Our driver/guide John was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He assisted my partner with his mobility issues with grace and enthusiasm. We were moving accommodations that day and we were picked up at our old location and dropped at the new location with our small luggage cases - excellent customer service 😍

So much to see - Diago the tour guide was friendly from the start. Knowledgable and able to answer all questions. When there was a temporary issue with the palace entrance (out of the viator and the drivers control) Diago changed the itinerary around to ensure that we got to see everything and more. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend.

Very good trip overall - Very good host was knowledgeable and good fun. We hada problem on the way home but not the hosts fault, he handled the breakdown with confidence and looked after us. We got a new vehicle quickly and were only delayed briefly. A good trip.
