Highlights
  • Sabuga Fountain - The Sabuga Fountain in the town of Sintra. Osberno (a 12th-century crusader) claimed that its waters eased coughs, while Aquilégio (1726) attributed qualities to it in treating “bilious diarrhea.” Presently, users ascribe digestive qualities to it.

  • Sintra National Palace - Located in the center of Sintra village and boasting a thousand years of history, the Sintra National Palace is Portugal’s oldest.

  • Palácio e Parque Biester - Designed by the esteemed architect José Luiz Monteiro and constructed in the final decades of the 19th century, surrounded by an extensive and majestic Botanical Park designed by the renowned landscaper François Nogré, the building stands as a unique example of Portuguese Romantic architecture.

  • Vale dos Lagos at Parque de Pena - Scenic natural scenery in Sintra, Portugal, showcasing tranquil lakes and verdant surroundings.

  • Castelo dos Mouros - The Moorish Castle in Sintra stands atop a rocky massif, isolated on one of the peaks of the Sintra mountain range in Estremadura. From the top of its walls, there’s a privileged view of its entire rural surroundings stretching all the way to the Atlantic Ocean.

  • Park and National Palace of Pena - Captivating Palace in Sintra, Portugal, fusing elements of romantic, Gothic, and Moorish architectural styles.

  • Quinta da Regaleira - In close proximity to the historic center, Quinta Regaleira stands as one of Sintra’s most mysterious sites. Constructed at the onset of the 20th century, the Quinta da Regaleira Palace was commissioned by the millionaire António Augusto Carvalho Monteiro (1848-1920).

  • Parque e Palacio de Monserrate - Writers’ retreat, Monserrate attracted numerous foreign travelers, particularly the English, who extolled its beauty in travel accounts and engravings. When Francis Cook, a wealthy English industrialist from the 19th century and a great art collector, visited the site, he was captivated. From that passion emerged a masterpiece of Romanticism: the Monserrate Park and Palace.

  • Penedo - Considered one of the 49 pre-finalists in the 7 Wonders of Portugal, in the Villages category, Penedo is still regarded as one of the most traditional villages in Sintra, possibly the most traditional of all.

  • Cabo da Roca - Cabo da Roca is the westernmost point of continental Europe, situated at the edge of the Sintra Mountains, and one of Portugal’s most emblematic locations. Dating back to 1722, it consists of a 22-meter-high tower, and its light has a luminous range of about 26 nautical miles, roughly 48 kilometers.

Shrouded in mist or bathed in splendid sunlight, this inspiring place has been a member of the “Sri Chinmoy Peace Blossoms” program dedicated to peace since 1989

  • Azenhas do Mar - A true picture-postcard scene, Azenhas do Mar surprises with its geographical location, where houses cascade down the cliffside to the sea, bathed in an idealized, whitewashed light.

It’s one of the most beloved beaches for swimmers, featuring an ocean pool that delights visitors.

The sandy area doesn’t exceed 30 meters, yet during high tides, it can entirely disappear.

Once an old fishing village, it has, in recent decades, transformed into a tranquil summer spot and a source of inspiration for many painters like Júlio Pomar, Emílio da Paula Campos, or Milly Possoz.

Wonderful experience in tuktuk - We hop on near the bus stop at Montserrate palace with Marcus, we travelled through Cabo da Roca, Cascais and Guincho while he was explaining us the history of the places we were looking at and stopping for pics, he also drove us to characteristic places like Boca do Inferno that we couldn’t find online, overall great experience with Marcus, I would recommend a round trip with him!
