Highlights
  • Skagway Alaska Downtown - Known as one of the most memorable Minivan tours on your cruise, this Skagway City and White Pass Summit adventure starts with a guided tour of Skagway’s Historic District.

Famous for being the toughest town on the planet during the Klondike Gold Rush of 1897-99.

  • Pitchfork Falls - Enjoy some stunning waterfalls during your time on this tour, such as the Pitchfork Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls. The Bridal Veil Falls are the trailhead for the “Valdez Goat Trail”, which is a section of the Trans Alaska Military Packtrain Trail, created during the Klondike Gold Rush.
  • White Pass & Yukon Route Railway - The tour continues up the stunning views of the Klondike Highway, travelling parallel to the historic White Pass Trail for most of the tour, with its peak at a 3,292 foot summit.

The views of the glacier-carved valley include glaciers, stunning waterfalls, and some amazing mountain views. When you arrive at the summit, we descend through to the daunting Tormented Valley in British Columbia, Canada. It is this area that inspired the classic authors Robert Service and Jack London.

The Tormented Valley is an eco-tone; two separate ecosystems transform to become the other. After visiting this area of 300 to 400-year-old trees known as “Krummholz”, many of which are no taller than chest-high, you will return to Skagway.

During your Skagway excursion, various photo stops will be made to help you maximize your Alaskan experience.

Southeast Tours was the operator - The bus trip up to the summit had breathtaking views of the mountains all the way to White pass. We stopped along the road to get pictures of the scenery including water falls and valleys and many mountains with lots of snow on them. White Pass was the summit with glacial melt lakes.

Outstanding tour! - Rebecca, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable about the area and history. We had multiple opportunities to stop and admire the views and take pictures. It was an excellent tour!

Awesome Trip - Was nervous about this trip due to other reviews. We found our bus with little trouble ( asked locals where we were supposed to meet). It was great, then driver( think Brent Gibson) was very knowledgeable and made the trip more enjoyable. We had a blast, was happy that our group was small enough to be able to converse with everyone with no problems. Great trip, would definitely recommend.

Do this tour instead of the train! - The family had an amazing time exploring Alaska and the Yukon on this excursion. Worth every single penny and was a perfect day in Skagway. Do this tour, skip the train, this tour goes deeper into the wilderness without the crowds you will find on the train.

Good but not great - I thought this was a bus tour around town and then a train ride. However, It is all done via bus. Our tour guide, Dennis, was lively and full of good information. I just wonder if you might have seen more (better) views on the train.

Buyer beware- they will... - Buyer beware- they will cancel without notice. We came in on a cruise ship and reserved this tour for 8:00 the first morning. We showed up at 8:00 and they claimed Viator messed up the booking, because lthey had no tour at that time. Turns out they didn’t have enough people sign up so they just canceled this one and booked us on a 2:30 tour ( no notice) . This seems to be a common practice for tours in cruise ship ports- if they don’t have enough people sign up, they cancel. If you want to be sure you get a tour, book through the ship. Both tours we booked through Viator were cancelled or delayed due to low bookings and there were at least 4 cruise ships in port at each stop.

A no shoe from tour operator - The directions were confusing. We waited at cruise terminal for over half hour and was not able to contact our tour operator, Wow A Tour. No one working there heard of them. We went to other tour operators (eg M&M) but had no help. I will be disputing any charge on my credit card
