Experience Skopje’s remarkable brutalist structures on wheels. Several notable concrete buildings sprung up from the remnants of Skopje’s 1963 earthquake: a postal station, an academic compound, a raised railway track, and a dormitory embraced by the sky. Follow me as I narrate a tale of an urban dream that links it all. As a city explorer and a fan of brutalism, I took the architectural magnificence of Skopje on a bike until I got my architecture degree. Hence, you can trust me to lead the way. Our journey will include coffee breaks on the cement decks of the dormitory, sending postcards from the preserved post office, watching trains set out from a height, and avoiding lectures at the university precinct.
I’ll supply the bicycles, all you need to bring is an inquisitive mind.
