The best way to get to know North Macedonia - I really liked the local guide Susane. A lot of knowledge, great mood, properly adapts to the needs of the group (time, interests). Would definitely recommend.

Great guided tour, completely recommended - The tour was really great, thanks to Suzana, the local guide, who was extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and willing to answer any question. Skopje is a nice city, but it is made even more attracting and interesting if properly put in the context of its rich and complicated history (and present), and Suzana was of great help to provide that context. Time passed too quickly, and I was left afterwards wanting to keep the conversation going! Totally worth the money, this guided tour made my Skopje experience much more personal and valuable, if I just had gone on my own wandering around the city center I would have lost so many interesting insights provided by Suzana!

Skopje highlights - Date of travel September 2022. I'm from Melbourne Australia but my background is Macedonian from what is Florina Greece today, Lerin areas Aegean Macedonia. My guide Suzana had extensive knowledge of the history, facts, traditions & delivered the information with passion. I was personally particularly interested in the traditional Macedonian folk costumes from various regions. The craftsmanship was incredible. Exquisite designs, luxurious fabrics & unique designs. The building itself (Museum of Macedonia) where they are kept is run down which is a shame. Do not let that put you off. Definately suggest going to see them in person to appreciate their beauty. The Museum of Macedonia; 1. The ethnological department, which is the one with the traditional costumes and 2. the permanent exhibition “Macedonian refugees in WWII and civil war in Greece 1940-1949” Going to this museum was very emotional. Its focus is on the genocide, struggles & oppression of the Macedonians. It made all the stories that my grandparents had told me growing up in Australia spring to life! Things made sense & I felt proud to be there. The grandchild of people who fled to start a new life in Australia. Matka Canyon is gorgeous. Clear water with plenty of fish to see. A boat ride on the lake & exploring the Vrelo cave is a must! Plenty of water activities to try out too. Suzana let me polish up my Macedonian language skills, was helpful & the whole team were friendly/easy to deal with. I recommend 5 stars. Thank you team. I'll be back in 2023 to try other tours with you. Christine Karafillis

All the highlights of Skopje and surroundings - This tour is a great option to see the core of Skopje and its surroundings in just one day. The country capital is not very big, so the extra information from a certified guide really enriched my visit. Choosing this tour also saves a lot of hassle with regards to booking things like public transport, the boat tour through the Canyon, getting information in and about the Vrelo cave, and so on! My guide and driver were also very flexible in dropping me off where I wanted and taking breaks where I needed. All in all, this day was a well-balanced mix of walking and driving (with a safe driver and very luxurious car). I really enjoyed the company of my aforementioned tour guide, Suzana Sich. She was not only very informed and taught me all about Skopje and Macedonia's history - but was also simply great to hang out with! We had a lot of fun having lunch and coffee together and after the tour, she even sent me pictures she took of me on her phone. She really went the extra mile to make sure I had a great day. I do want to note that if you go on a Monday, access to the Millennium Cross is closed - but I got to see it from close by + had similar city views by visiting the St. Pantelejmon church!

Awesome walking tour of Skopje - Miki put together a great tour for us in the limited time we had. Susanna was our guide. She was amazing . She took us on a four hour walking tour. Daniella drove us to the starting point to maximize our time. Susanna speaks excellent English. She gave us an insight into the history of N.Macedonia. Very passionate about her country. Did not rush us., Very detailed in her explanation. Just like with Naumka in Ohrid, I felt that I learnt a lot and can retrace my steps in the city and be a guide myself. All in all an amazing trip and I strongly recommend Explore Macedonia Tours. Skopje is a beautiful city. Recommend staying near Alexander square which is lively at night and has great restaurants. Hope to go back again and explore the rest of the Balkans

Best day trip ever! - A friend and I booked the private day tour of Skopje. We were met by our wonderful driver first thing in the morning and given the full package deal throughout the course of the day. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and was also extremely flexible with what we wanted to do and see. We had a wonderful time getting to know and understand the city, the country, and the people! We also booked a private ride from Skopje back to Pristina and were again met with complete comfort, flexibility, and freedom to change the scheduled time as we saw fit. I would highly recommend this company to anyone in the Balkans and would love to do another tour with the same group! Thank you Dragan and Suzana for an amazing day! :)

Trip to see the highlights of Skopje plus a visit to Matka Canyon - We had a marvelous time with Suzana Sich, our tour guide of the capital city of Macedonia as well as the beautiful canyon called Matka, about 1/2 hour away from Skopje. Suzana was extremely knowledgeable and professional. She spoke excellent English and was a great conversationalist to boot. The weather was not the best during our visit, but we loved seeing the unique architecture in Skopje. The visit to the old town was very interesting as we saw the cobblestone pedestrian streets of the area. The statues of Skopje were also very interesting and there were so many! We absolutely loved visiting Matka canyon and visiting the underground cave. This was the highlight of our visit as the cave was absolutely stunning. We promised ourselves that we would visit Matka again in summer or fall, when the weather is better and we can do some hiking around the area. I would definitely recommend this tour and tour guide!!
