Best Introduction to Skopje - I can't imagine a better introduction to Skopje than the one given by Aleksander. He has a genuine gift for keeping everyone engaged. (I'm still trying to figure out how he remembers everyone's names!) Yes, he showed us all of the glitz of the new Skopje, but we also got to see the real Skopje and its' historic gems that could have easily been missed if not for this tour.

Would Recommend - This guide was an absolute pleasure to tour with. Knowledgeable and friendly while also having knowledge of areas that the group had traveled from. One of the best guides I've had as we traveled through the Balkans.

Excellent history walking tour. - We really enjoyed this walking history tour of Skopje. We learned so much about the city of Skopje and the country. Our guide taught us a lot about the history and culture and explained every monument in detail that we saw. We covered a lot of ground on the tour and saw things we would have missed otherwise. He also recommend restaurants and worthwhile shops to visit. Highly recommended.

Community through Commute - I loved this tour. Aleksandar is amazing, he has a such a confident and welcoming energy. Throughout the tour Aleksandar greeted many locals with a friendly hello and embrace and it was so nice to see small moments of connection within the community and I think it represented the culture of Macedonia well. He also brought reflective honesty, curiosity, optimism, and playfulness to his stories & facts which was incredible and refreshing. I would highly recommend going on this journey through Skopje with Aleksandar!

Fast Paced Skopje Tour - Overall, the tour guide was knowledgeable about the subject area. He provided information that was relevant to the tour and good to know. It was a fast paced tour that covered a lot of ground. The only downside – and it’s a big downside –was the tour guide’s nationalistic opinion on Macedonians at the expense of other cultures. As an example and reminiscent of communist propaganda of bygone days, the tour guide ended the tour at Mother Teresa’s house and claimed she was ethnically Macedonian, Croatian and Indian! When he was corrected and told that her ethnicity was Albanian, he doubled down on his own disinformation! I wasn’t gonna argue with him. Instead, I gave him €10 and I silently prayed that he’d use it to go buy himself a coffee and dwell on the implications of such disinformation, especially in the context of a tour of a city made up of multiple ethnic groups.
