Great! - I only booked the shuttle without any tour as I wanted to discover Plovdiv on my own. Everyone worked out very well and our guide Jordan was really nice! We were never really late and had about 4h in Plovdiv which I think is perfect as Plovdiv isn't the biggest place. Highly recommend.

Very nice! - I just booked the shuttle without any tours to go to Plovdiv. The time we had there was about 4h which I think is totally fine for the size of Plovdiv and what you can do. Our guide was Jordan and he was amazing. Everything went very well and was reliable and I would book with their company again. I can't comment on any tours since I explored the city by myself.

Necessary to go - Essential excursion to get to know Bulgaria. It is the second city in the country. Although it is a 2 hour trip, it is worth it.

Great Tour, Great guide - The best tour I've ever done! our group of 6 had booked onto the trip and we had 1 solo traveller with us, so only scheduled for 7 people. Unfortunately 2 of our group dropped out so it led to being a super small group of just 5 of us and the tour guide Tuni. Tuni was informative on the 2 hour drive and is a very good driver. The guided tour around Plovdiv was great, we saw many sights around the old town and did not feel rushed at all. Tuni let us know of local customs (when we can/can't take photos in the churches) and provided information whilst being very funny and being in a very positive mood. After the guided tour, he gave us an option of roaming the city by ourselves or going for lunch with him. We went to lunch with him, had a great time and he showed us a few great spots around the new town too. The drive on the way back was fine, unfortunately a little traffic but Tuni kept us up to date and it didn't delay us too much. I would definitely re-book with City tour if I visit Bulgaria again and will hopefully have Tuni as a guide again! It was definitely the highlight of my holiday.

Very hilly, well preserved town - Very hilly town with large cobblestone streets, consider not going if you have difficulty walking. Town is well preserved, includes excavated amphitheater and colosseum and many homes from 1800s. Lots of shopping for locals. Not much shopping for tourists. Town includes a college of art and music. Worth the trip.

Visit to Plovdiv - The stop at a very small roadside services was not necessary as we only traveled about 15 mins longer and then were in Plovdiv. It only has one toilet or you have to pay to use the toilet in the restaurant next door. The guide once we got there was nice but we didn't get to stop and browse some of the little market stalls and it centered a lot on 'houses' which were mostly shut. We couldn't wander around the amphitheatre and it was all done for a concert, so didn't real get a feel of how it was. We only had time to have a little quick meal before we had to walk back to the coach and head back.

Amazing city, but your guide could make or break the experience. - To start: we asked the bus driver a question & he held up a pointer finger, walked away & pawned a cigarette. No answer, no getting someone else - no cares. Not a great start. The drive itself: ok - a little honking & traffic, but fairly uneventful. The tour & the guide: also just ok. We chose this tour specifically for the English speaking guide. We expected to receive a comprehensive history of city with Q&A. The biggest issue was our guide seemed to know a lot, but spoke only broken English at best— from fluent. He tried, but he struggled to share info or answer ANY follow up questions. In addition, instead of spending 2 hours (of our 4) walking around & learning, we went to a museum that we had to pay for (not in trip details when we booked), & ended up spending 90 min there. It turned but to be the most informative part of the trip, thanks to reading the museum plaques & pamphlets. Plovdiv itself was a unique city to visit & overall we were still glad we went. I just wish we learned more in the process. Lastly - shoutout to the best boutique store in all of Bulgaria—an amazing coat store with incredible prices! If you are in Plovdiv, you don’t want to miss Plovdiv Boutique (address: 9 Saborna Street.)!

Could have been better - The tour guide was inexperienced, shy and quite inaudible. The mike in the bus was not working as well. Could have been much better.
