Best way to start your time in Sorrento - This was a great tour. Sorento has some main streets which are very evident full of shops restaurants and gelato shops by you look. Only a guide who has lived here for over 25 years show us so many gems. Started with a bit of history and how the town was formed. Went to see a man making fresh balls of pizza dough at high speed by hand into perfect uniform size. Visited a true artisan who cuts intricate designs and patterns out of wood to be inlaid into other wood products. Amazing talent. Visited a back street old monastery converted into a school.. Went in the back of a restaurant which opened up into the most beautiful gardens with seating that went on forever. This place could seat well over 300 people. We went back for an amazing lunch after the tour. Food was delicious. Went on to a family who had been carving cameos out of seashells for generations. All along the way we learned little helpful secrets about the city. These were all things just hidden barely out of sight you would miss and never prob know existed and were all right there.The only problem is we had to go back and purchase items at the wood carvers store,cameo earrings and lunch. All well worth every penny..Enjoy your time even more in Sorrento by starting your time with this tour. Have to also give a shout out for Frankie’s pizza and bar. Best Pizza in Sorrento.
