Highlights
  • Piazza Tasso - Departure from Sorrento at 08:15 a.m. from the Office IAMME IA!-Tours & Tickets
  • Pompeii Archaeological Park - Pompeii is a vast archaeological site in southern Italy’s Campania region, near the coast of the Bay of Naples. Once a thriving and sophisticated Roman city, Pompeii was buried under meters of ash and pumice after the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. The preserved site features excavated ruins of streets and houses that visitors can freely explore.
  • Basilica - The Basilica, with its extension of 1,500 square meters, was the most sumptuous building of the Forum, and its space was used to carry out business and for the administration of justice.
  • Forum - The Civil Forum is the core of daily life of the city and is the focal point of all the main public buildings for city administration and justice, business management, and trade activities such as markets, as well as the main places of citizen worship.
  • Tempio di Giove Capitolino - Dominated by the Vesuvius with its statues of Jupiter, Juno and Minerva, the temple was the Capitolium, similar to the one located in the Ancient Rome. The statues were highly placed to be visible to those passing in the Forum.
  • Macellum - The Macellum of Pompeii was located on the Forum and as the provision market of Pompeii was one of the focal points of the ancient city. The building was constructed in several phases. When the earthquake of 62 CE destroyed large parts of Pompeii, the Macellum was also damaged.
  • Via dell’Abbondanza - Via dell’Abbondanza was the ancient main street (decumanus maximus) of ancient Pompeii, which ran across the city in the direction east/west from the Forum to the Porta Sarno.
In ancient times the street was crowded and noisy with many shops, workshops (“officinae”), cafes, snack-bars and restaurants for food and drink.
  • Stabian Baths (Terme Stabiane) - The Forum Baths are located behind the Temple of Jupiter and date back to the years immediately after the founding of the colony of veterans by General Silla (80 BC). Women’s and men’s quarters had separate entrances. The men’s section presents an apodyterium (dressing room), used also as a tepidarium (for medium temperature baths), frigidarium (for cold baths) and calidarium (for hot baths). Like many buildings in Pompeii, the baths were heavily damaged during the earthquake of 62 AD.
  • Lupanar - The Lupanar of Pompeii is the most famous brothel in the ruined Roman city of Pompeii. It is of particular interest for the erotic paintings on its walls. Lupanar is Latin for “brothel”. The Pompeii lupanar is also known as Lupanare Grande.
  • House of Menander (Casa del Menandro) - The house of the Menander is a great example of a Roman Villa owned by an high-ranking family. It is reachly decorated with wonderful frescoes representing scenes of the Trojan war and here were also founded many objects in silver, tableware now strored in the Archaeological Museum in Naples. The house owes its name to a picture of Menander, an Athenian poet, placed in the portico.
The house belonged to Quintus Poppaeus Sabinus of the Poppei family, relatives of the Empress Poppea Sabina, Nero’s second wife.
  • Pompeii Archaeological Park - The Large Theater of Pompeii was built from the Romans on the slope of a hill located in the area; they took advantage of the natural depression of the mountain to create a majesty auditorium divided into 5 sectors.
On the stage were played tragedies of the Greco-Roman traditions.
  • Vesuvius National Park - Drop off at 1.000 mt high on the Volcano.
Mount Vesuvius is a somma-stratovolcano located on the Gulf of Naples in Campania, Italy, about 9 km east of Naples and a short distance from the shore.
In 79 AD eruption destroyed the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
Mount Vesuvius doesn’t stand alone. While the ‘main peak’ is named Vesuvius, there is another mountain which is attached to it, Monte Somma.
is listed among the most dangerous volcanoes in the world. Volcanologists and geologists alike agree that the next volcanic eruption is overdue and that when it does happen, it will be big. The layer of magma that lies beneath Vesuvius measures a huge 154 square miles; this is why scientists monitore the volcano’s activity 24/7.
  • Vesuvius National Park - Reach the crater’s edge at 1.280 mt to admire a breathtaking panorama on the Gulf of Naples.
The surface of the path is uneven, but it’ ll be well worth it.
Following the devastating eruption, it was named after the Roman God of the Flame and Metal Forgery - Vulcan

Vesuvius Perfection - Loved this tours. The info was presented well and clearly. The guide for Pompeii was excellent. She knew the information well. This was my 3rd trip to Pompeii and I still feel I learned more. The guide made she we were well fed. The highlight was the hike up Vesuvius. They allowed enough time for some of us who were seniors. One of my favorite tours!

Pompeii Brought to Life - Our guide, Max, was very interesting and entertaining. His explanations of the various areas of Pompeii brought us back to ancient city life. His personality and zeal for this subject made for an interesting day even w some rain showers.

Pompeii Walking Tour - 10/10 - Pompeii is an absolute " must See" and fully recommend the skip the line with a 2 Hour Walking Guide. It was fantastic and everyone else was just wandering around aimlessly with no idea what anything was. You have an ear piece and are advised on all the history of the events of Pompeii and taken to the prime spots to see the best of the ruins. Then you are free to wander yourself but our guide told us exactly what else to focus on so we all did that. Its 170 acres so you cant walk the lot - believe me and its not for the frail and definitely not disabled or push chair friendly so be warned. Give yourselves at least 4 - 5 hours for Pompeii and pay the extra money to get the best out of it - well worth it.

Very worth going on this tour over going alone - Absolutely worth it! We had Marika and Max for our guides. We got a very in depth and insightful review at Pompeii, had an opportunity to eat a very delicious lunch for only 17 euro per person, and had a decent amount of time to go up to the peak of vesuvius and take a look. I really recommend this over going alone, as you skip the large annoying lines, and get to stay cool on the bus.

Great experience and worth the cost. - Our tour guides were great! I would have preferred a little smaller group at Pompeii but again tour guides were great. Climbing to the top of Vesuvius was medium to hard just because of the time frame but was awesome.

Great tour of Pompeii - We loved the guided walking tour of Pompeii. So much history jam-packed into one morning, we could’ve gladly spent more time just at Pompeii exploring the ruins. Unfortunately we did not get to see Mt Vesuvius. This portion of the trip is very tentative, as it sounds like with any form of weather such as rain or wind, they do not let you go see the volcano, but we still had to drive up to the top of the volcano in the bus to see if they were letting people in or not. The company refunded us for this portion of the trip, thankfully.
