Additional Information

Embark on a day’s journey in the Vesuvian area where you’ll explore the remarkable archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum.

Begin your day with pick-up from Sorrento that takes you to Pompeii. Once there, a guide will meet you at the entrance for a 2-hour tour through the historical town’s alleyways.

Following the guided tour, you’ll get 2 hours of free time to further wander the alleys of what was once a major trading hub in the area.

Time will be allotted for lunch, after which you’ll proceed to Herculaneum. There you’ll have some time on your own to visit the archaeological park, which, along with Pompeii, is considered one of the key archaeological treasures in the Campania Region today. Its preservation levels outstrip those of Pompeii due to centuries under a layer of mud and lava.

In the afternoon, you’ll return to Sorrento.

Location
Piazza Torquato Tasso, 16

In case you don't need the pick up, you will meet the driver by the entrance of "Gray Line - IAMME IA!" office located behind the statue of Torquato Tasso, nearby the Bar Fauno, next to the Fattoria Terranova shop. We suggest to arrive at meeting point 10 minutes prior to the departure.

Highly recommend - Excellent tour. Great informative guide. The vastness of this city requires a guide or you'll just wander.

Excellent visit!!!! - Andrea, the tour guide with excellent charisma and always ready to help, it is true, there are no lines to enter and they give you radios so you can listen to the tour guide all the time. Don't forget to bring an umbrella and a jacket to protect yourself from the wind (suitable for this time of year). NOTE: Book the tour from Colombia through desparar.com, it's easier......impossible.

Amazing Private Pompeii and Herculaneum Tour with local Guide. - An amazing trip. Our tour Guide Connie was very knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting and a memorable experience. The tour was expensive but worth every penny. My only criticism is that water should have been provided to us.

A Look Back in Time - Nella with Travel, Etc provided us with an excellent full day tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum. We departed from Sorrento with a group of about 20. We weren’t sure about touring with a group but it worked out great. Nella was very knowledgeable about both sites and we came away feeling very satisfied with the content of the tour. We stopped for lunch between sites at a convenient restaurant, which provided a welcomed break. Definitely a good value for a full day tour.

An awesome and informative experience - Carmela our guide was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We had the convenience of being picked up close to our accomodation. There was just the right balance of walking and stopping at places of interest. The day was intersected by a delicious lunch. A great day had by all our family. I would highly recommend to others. But choose a cooler day!!
