Highlights
  • Dunas De Corrallejo - The Corralejo Natural Park is a protected area on the island of Fuerteventura. It has more than 2600 hectares. It was classified by Enesco as a natural park in 1996. The dunes of Corralejo are located in the north of the island, in the municipality of La Oliva. They are, after the white sandy beaches, the most important tourist attraction of the island. They are the largest dunes in the Canary Islands! These large dunes have an organic origin because they are formed by the disintegration and pulverization of shells of mollusks and other marine organisms with an internal skeleton. - Popcorn Playa - We also visit the now world-famous popcorn beach in Corralejo. The millions of small calcareous algae that lie on the beach look a lot like popcorn and are frequently photographed by everyone. The popcorn beach has been given its own hashtag on Instagram with #PopCornBeach and has also attracted the Spanish and foreign press with articles in the Daily Mail and attention on Fox News in the United States. Where they come from ? These calcareous algae almost certainly come from the bottom of the so-called ‘estrecho de Bocaina’ that separates Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. There is a forest of rhodolites that guarantees the fishing reserves of Majanicho and the coast of the municipality of La Oliva in general. - Volcanes de Bayuyo - We see almost all volcanoes on our tour. Here is an overview of all our volcanoes (23). Ask your guide all about them.. Montaña de La Arena Caldera de los Arrabales Bayuyo Montaña Bermeja Calderas Calderas Blancas Montaña Caimán Montaña de La Caldereta Montaña de Escangraga Caldera Encantada Caldera de Gairía Calderón Hondo Caldera de La Laguna Caldera de Liria La Caldera (Islote de Lobos) Montaña Piedra del Sal Montaña Quemada Calderilla Roja Montaña de Los Saltos Montaña de San Andrés Montaña Tamacite Montaña Temerejeque Montaña Tindaya Montaña Tirba - Majanicho Beach - Majanicho: an old fishing village. The area has a maritime flavor. The tables set in the sea where fishermen clean the fish caught throughout the day are very striking. Old wooden tables, rickety from the passage of time and from the usefulness provided over the decades. In Majanicho everything invites you to disconnect. There are no big hotels here, nor toasted tourists. There are no bars, no restaurants, no hamburgers or the smell of fried bacon. Majanicho smells like the sea, but badly calm, like the real sea, like fish. Present tranquility that has remained connected to the past for decades, through stitches of white and transparent thread. - El Cotillo Beach & Lagoons - In the summer we have time to swim or snorkel … The Corralejo Natural Park is a protected area on the island of Fuerteventura. Built in the 18th century, when many of the island’s residents would not have had a single window in their dwellings, the sight of the sixteen on the main facade of the manor would have been a statement of the authority and wealth of those who resided within. Many features of the home are designed to send out a message of power. The twin battlements on either side of the main facade would not have held any practical military purpose, but would have been added to the house as another statement of political dominance. - Mirador De Vallebron - Vallebron is the name by which inhabitants and tourists know this immense geomorphological unit of relief in “cuchillo” and “morros”, where one of the main mountains of the island is located, on its northeastern slope: the mountain of the Change. However, the official name of this site is Mirador de la Degollada de Valle Grande. The Vallebron viewpoint and trail in Fuerteventura has great scenic beauty, which stands out for its elongated ridge and knife-shaped relief that are delimited by two U-shaped ravines. This elongated ridge is made up of the Montaña de La Change. - Montana de Tindaya - The Tindaya Mountain (volcano) has been declared a Natural Monument for the scientific importance of its geomorphological structure, but also a point of cultural interest for its archaeological values, especially for the abundance of podomorph petroglyphs and the sacred character that the majoreros (local people ) to give. the first pre-Hispanic inhabitants of the island. It also has the presence of a rare endemism such as Caralluma burchardii, a fleshy plant that resembles a cactus. 3 km south of the city of Tindaya, at the foot of the 3 million year old Quemada Mountain, stands the monument in honor of Miguel de Unamuno, the famous writer of Bilbao. The guide will tell you all about it.
