Perfect if Elephants are your thing - If elephants are your thing then this is the place to go, so many to see, we were recommended the afternoon slot as more elephants around as they have come out of the forest to drink Fabulous guide supplied by the National Park as well who was very friendly and spoke excellent English (we booked via Navin Lanka Tours for a few days who was excellent as well but not on this safari) Make sure you have hats, sun cream etc as it is an open top jeep so you can stand up and admire them. Fabulous afternoon

Lovely park elephants and views! - Lovely park with elephants round every corner and spectacular views, it was also quiet when we visited so thoroughly enjoyed the experience without being surrounded by other vehicles when viewing wildlife.

Amazing experience! - We traveled with Piya Special Green Track and had the best time! Our guide was very kind and knowledgeable and we saw lots of elephants in their natural habitat taking dirt baths and eating fresh vegetation.

Incredible Safari trip to see wild elephants - Fantastic safari trip to lush Minneriya National park. Our jeep driver was a very professional safari driver. We were drove by a comfortable fully opened jeep. So we could spot animals easily. During the two hours trip, we spotted approximately 40-50 elephants. Highly recommended safari trip who is staying in Sigiriya.

Wonderful bucketlist item - Our guide was amazing and we saw many groups of elephants and even several baby elephants that were adorable. Elephants also played in pools of water to cool down. At times we saw some of the other guides seem to get too close to the elephants which was concerning because they are wild animals so they shouldn’t be disturbed. The length of tour was a good length (about 2 hours) and when you wanted to stay and watch or move on from elephants the guide was happy to oblige. It was also fun just riding around in the jeep with the wind in your hair enjoying the scenery. We saw some peacocks and other birds too.

Jumbos of Minneriya National Park, Sri Lanka - On the 3rd day our Exploration of Srilanka, from Anuradhapura to Pollonuruwa, on the way we undertook Wildlife Safari at Minneriya National Park by a private Bollero 4x4 Jeep. From Anuradhapura, it took nearly 01.30 hrs to reach Minneriya National park. We were met by our Jeep Driver who assisted us in procuring our Entrance Tickets costing USD 35 and Jeep cost was USD 40 for a Jeep of 06 pax. Minneriya is a National Park and thereason for declaring the area as protected is to protect the catchment of Minneriya tank and the wildlife of the surrounding area. The tank also is of historical importance, having been built by King Mahasen in third century AD. The park is a dry season feeding ground for large number of Asiatic Elephant population dwelling in forests of Matale, Polonnaruwa, and Trincomalee districts. Minneriya National Park is also famous site for Birding.
