Embark on a journey across the mountainous terrain of South Africa’s Cape Winelands with this group expedition. With a personal guide by your side, explore the regions of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, and Paarl and get a chance to taste the wines crafted locally. Relish this unique cultural voyage with hotel collection and drop-off service in Cape Town.
- Delaire Graff Estate - After morning pickup from your Cape Town hotel, travel toward Paarl, passing by Drakenstein Prison, formerly known as Victor Verster Prison, where Nelson Mandela spent part of his incarceration in the 1980s.
Your first stop is Vrede en Lust Winery, established in 1688, for your first wine tasting. Then continue to your second tasting at La Motte in Franschhoek, where the French Huguenots settled in 1820. Take time to walk around and explore the local shops before heading to lunch at La Petite Femme or an equivalent location (all food and drinks are at your own expense); you’ll have two hours to eat and relax.
Once you have finished your meal, head to Stellenbosch, the second-oldest European settlement in South Africa. Travel over Helshoogte Pass to get to your last tasting at Delaire Graff Estate. If time allows, take a short walk through this historical town and admire the Cape Dutch architecture.
At the end of your day, make the journey back to Cape Town for drop-off at your accommodation.
