Highlights
  • Delaire Graff Estate - After morning pickup from your Cape Town hotel, travel toward Paarl, passing by Drakenstein Prison, formerly known as Victor Verster Prison, where Nelson Mandela spent part of his incarceration in the 1980s.

Your first stop is Vrede en Lust Winery, established in 1688, for your first wine tasting. Then continue to your second tasting at La Motte in Franschhoek, where the French Huguenots settled in 1820. Take time to walk around and explore the local shops before heading to lunch at La Petite Femme or an equivalent location (all food and drinks are at your own expense); you’ll have two hours to eat and relax.

Once you have finished your meal, head to Stellenbosch, the second-oldest European settlement in South Africa. Travel over Helshoogte Pass to get to your last tasting at Delaire Graff Estate. If time allows, take a short walk through this historical town and admire the Cape Dutch architecture.

At the end of your day, make the journey back to Cape Town for drop-off at your accommodation.

Cape Town is Open for Tourism - South Africa is open for travel! It's time to go...We actually did several things with WOW. They handled our airport transfers. We did a Cape Point/Boulders Beach/Constantia tour and a Wine Tour. Rushdi could not have done a better job. This was a private tour and the car we were in was comfortable and clean. Rushdi not only knew where to stop for the best views, because he grew up in Cape Town, he knew the history. Ask for Rushdi and listen to his story...it is direct experience from the Apartheid period. We then went out to Stellenbosch and Franshoek. We gave some inputs on thoughts we had and Rushdi turned it into a solid plan. Every place we stopped had a story to tell. Throughout the trip, there wasn't a concern if we spent some extra time anywhere. We got to set the pace. Rushdi is the perfect ambassador for this beautiful city.

Don't miss the Cape Winelands Tour - We were recommended to Wow Cape Town Tours by our neighbours on our cruise ship and we are so glad we took their recommendation. We actually did three tours with Wow Cape Town Tours and all three of them were fantastic. Rushdi was our excellent driver and guide. He picked us up at he cruise ship port in his very comfortable car and we headed to Stellenbosch and had a walk in the town. We then drove to our first of three wineries. The first winery called Delair Graf was in a spectacular setting. We sat on the patio for our first wine tasting. (Additional cost for all the tastings) . We enjoyed the wine and the view very much. We had lunch in Franschhoek and then went to two more wineries (La Motte and Vrede en Luste). I am sure if you had a special winery you wanted to see, Rushdi would make it happen. We had such an excellent day. Rushdi was like an old friend showing us this wonderful wine region and educating us about the history and country along the way. We highly recommend Wow Capetown Tours. There is so much to see in Cape Town but don't miss the wine tour. It was a great way to spend a day.

Great private escape - This tour was perfect for the winery for us, especially to the winery where you don’t want to be driving and wine tasting. Having a private guide meant we could travel to any winery or town at our leisure and spend as much or little time as possible. It was definitely on the more expensive end of the tours available but was definitely worth it. This is a full day activity however you will be well looked after on the day.
