Additional Information

We will start by going over the Swedish Empire and the war in which Gustav Adolf had the ship commissioned, what was the purpose of the ship? Who was the enemy during these years? Something happened during the construction and the ship sank, what happened? and whose fault was it?

Many years later it was found and salvaged, but this was no easy task. We will go over the engineering project together and show you the maps used in the 19th century to find the location of the ship, and how it was found in the 1950s. Once it was salvaged, a time capsule of the 17th century was opened and many secrets were revealed of how life was back then.

This tour is the perfect choice for the ones who want to get a deep knowledge about everything that happened, in and out of the ship. Come full of questions, because we want to answer all of them!

Vasa Museum Guided Tour is outstanding and offers high value to tourists - Mr. Arturo provided an excellent and enthusiastic tour of the Vasa war ship and museum. He provided an excellent review of Sweden's history to provide context for the construction of the Vasa in the 1620's. He provided sufficient details regarding the flaws in the ship's construction that led to its sinking, as well as remarkable campaign to resurrect and restore the vessel at the museum. VIATOR is very fortunate to have Mr. Arturo an employee and representative of Swedish history. Thanks very much! Dr. Gregory P, USA

Vasa museum tour - The museum itself is very interesting. There are lots of interactive exhibits. But our guide, Arthur made this experience so much more amazing. His knowledge of the history behind this shipwreck and his good humor made this experience really great. Would definitely recommend this tour.

See the Vasa museum with Arthur - I booked this tour at the last minute because another tour I had was cancelled. I'm so glad that happened and this turned out to be one of the best tours and tour guide (Arthur/Arturo). Arthur was engaging, funny and made history fun to learn. He navigated us through the crowded museum while telling us everything we needed to know. Highly recommend this tour and Arthur!
