Wonderful Alsace experience - What a wonderful experience. Colmar and the other smaller, medieval villages of Eguisheim and Riquewhir were a cultural and historical delight to explore. Our guide Robin was very knowledgable, professional, and a great sense golf honour. Highlight was a visit to Haut Koenigsbourg Castle. Outstanding!!! I highly recommend this tour, and Robin.

W ALSACE - An experience with a French-German flavour. A very old town in France. The Alsace region is magical with its houses, particular constructions and bright colours. A beautiful historic center is not called Little Venice for nothing. Well looked after and a major tourist attraction. Seeing is believing

Surprising and impressive Strasbourg - Alsace and Lorraine have historically been lands in dispute between France and Germany. The world wars have meant that the border line has been redefined according to their results. As a consequence of political ups and downs, its cities and architecture have characteristics of both cultures. Strasbourg, seat of the European Parliament, has magnificent and imposing French-style public buildings and a neighborhood of German half-timbered houses called Petite France. The neighborhood is called that because it was the place where soldiers from Paris were forced to live, all of them syphilitic according to the authorities of the time. A visit to this neighborhood is mandatory if you travel to Strasbourg. Walking through its streets and water canals leisurely takes approximately one day. I made the mistake of going on the weekend, when the streets are bursting with tourists, and you can't find a place to eat. I advise doing it on weekdays, when tourist demand is low. But the icon par excellence of the city is its medieval cathedral and the surroundings of its square. It is the only cathedral in the world with a single tower (not by project, but because I don't have the money to build the other one). Furthermore, for more than 200 years it was the tallest building in Europe. I went on a spring Sunday, which was a mistake. The line to enter was more than 150 meters at times and was very slow. I had to choose between the interior of the cathedral or visiting Petite France. I don't regret the decision. We must mention the imposing train station, where the historic heritage building was wrapped, with a skin of curved glass that is worth a visit to be surprised. If you are going to visit the city of Colmar, the trains leave from there.
