  • Wat Yai Chai Mang Khon - 16:15 Hours:- (30 Minute) Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon-Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, or “Great Monastery of Auspicious Victory”. Its distinguishing feature is the high prang (tower) dominating the area. The temple is old and was built in the second half of the 14th century during the reign of King U Thong. Interestingly, it is still active and monks live in it. The current name of the monastery was acquired at the end of the 16th century, when a large chedi was built. In the northeast, you can see a large statue of the Reclining Buddha wrapped in yellow cloth, facing east towards the rising sun. Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, like many other buildings in the area, was destroyed during the invasion in 1767. Great place and worth visiting.

A must do of all the available trips - First time in Bangkok so I wanted to see some highlights and learn a little history. I travel by myself sometimes and find these Viator trips very well put together, well priced and very convenient. You never really feel alone but actually more part of a group or a team. My rep was Jimmy ( James). You can read countless reviews on how good this guy is.. but you really have to meet the man. He has a knack of commandeering a group yet it feels like each individual person has his undivided attention. That's a brilliant skill to have. I learned some thai phases and some thai history. This guy knows his stuff and he's good. There was a few of us solo travellers on this trip.. but Jimmy was always there to help you take your pictures so you can keep your memories and also available for a chat if you just wanted 5 minutes over a coffee. When your searching what trips to do on Viator this is one you really don't want to miss. And if you're lucky.. you'll meet Jimmy

Fun with Jom - The tour was great despite the rain. Jom was pretty funny and knowledgeable. He kept the show going even though it rained the entire tour.

It was all worth it and so much more - It was an amazing experience. We got to roam around and get up close to the ancient temples which was incredible. Our guide, Jom (Johnny) was brilliant. Not only is he truly a good representation of Thailand as the land of smiles but also provided us with enough history of the places we visited without information overload. His attitude was impeccable. He was friendly, very approachable and has good sense of humour. Initially, I thought the amount of time alloted for the first 2 temples which were about 30min each was a bit rushed, but I quickly realised it was just enough time to explore the place and take photos as you don't want to stay out too long because of the sweltering heat. The tour also include a river cruise where we fed the fish which we really enjoyed. It was overall an excellent tour!

Unique boat trip between the temples. - This was a very good day trip if your interested in seeing an old and historic temple site via a bus and then boat ride. Bare in mind the second temple site is a ruin. However at sun set it looks great, The first site is of a more well keep temple as seen in pics.

Good trip - Enjoyable trop, our guide was Johnny or Jom. I think we would have preferred more time at the first temple as we felt a bit rushed and ut was very hot. Saw 3 temples in all and a boat ride. Johnny supplied bread to feed the fish. We were given a small bottle of water at the start of our trip. Only downside was when we got to the last temple via the boat, rather than stopping at the steps, we had to scamble over some slippy stones and then scramble up a grassy bank. I'm pretty sure older people wouldn't have managed this! Still enjoyed the tour, I thought we might have been given options for a meal/snack as our trip started at 2pm, we got back to the pickup point just before 8pm, so were starving!
