Highlights
- Bangkok - Hotel pick-up in Bangkok starts at 13:30 for private tours. For group tours, meet at Novotel Hotel Silom (now Hilton Garden Inn Bangkok Silom) or Novotel Hotel Ploenchit.
- Wat Mahathat - 15:30 (30 minutes): Wat Mahathat, built in the 13th century, is one of Ayutthaya’s oldest and most significant temples, housing the Buddha’s holy relic.
- Wat Yai Chai Mang Khon - 16:15 (30 minutes): Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, or the “Great Monastery of Auspicious Victory,” features a high prang (tower) and dates back to the late 14th century during King U Thong’s reign. The temple is still active with resident monks. The current name was given in the late 16th century when a large chedi was built. A large Reclining Buddha statue wrapped in yellow cloth can be seen in the northeast. The temple was destroyed during the 1767 invasion but remains a must-visit.
- Wat Chaiwatthanaram - 16:45: Wat Chaiwatthanaram is one of Ayutthaya’s most iconic and well-preserved temples, known for its Khmer-style architecture and riverside location. It’s popular for late afternoon and sunset visits, with locals often praying in traditional clothing. Bats can be seen leaving the buildings at sunset. One stupa is under restoration but doesn’t affect the sunset view. We’ll return to see the temple illuminated at night.
- Historic City of Ayutthaya - 16:45 (40 minutes): Enjoy a riverboat ride around Ayutthaya, taking in the riverside culture, local villages, ruins, ancient city, pagodas, and temples from your personal boat.
- Wat Chaiwatthanaram - 17:45: Experience Wat Chaiwatthanaram illuminated at night.
- Bangkok - 18:30: Return to Bangkok.

our team building became better with this - Jira is a wise and sweet guide with lots of love for Thailand! We did tour with 9 people as a team building. Aged 25-39
We had the best time visiting temples and listening to the history alongside with the tour.
Girls wore traditional Thai dress too :)

Well worth your time to participate in this extremely informative tour! - It was a little hot walking down to the hotel for the tour pickup as the tour bus doesn't come to the individual hotels of customers. It took over an hour to get outside of Bangkok, but it was certainly worth it. My tour guide was very animated and engaging as he led us around three major pagoda temple areas followed by a sunset boat ride. Unlike several other temple areas that I visited, the temple areas were extremely old in age but still in good condition. I learned a lot from this tour!

Very enjoyable excursion with a knowledgeable guide, Johnny, who has a great sense of humor. - Johnny was very professional, answering all our questions, providing much history of the Ayutthaya city.
The schedule worked well. The boat ride to the last temple was fun. The second boat scheduled was not available, but a replacement was quickly found, such that no time was lost.

Fun guide and informative!! - Our guide, Jom had great energy, the occasional salacious joke, and kept the group inclusive - he would wait for us to congregate before explaining about certain spots. He also kept everything going with a smile! Truly energetic and a wonderful trip to see temples you wouldn’t normally see in Bangkok.
Would recommend to others seeking a getaway from the city life!

Gaito is wonderful! Recommended for those who want to get around Ayutthaya efficiently - The guide's older brother was very kind and I felt relieved just seeing his smiling face.
Thai people's smiles are really nice.
I was able to visit the main tourist spots in Ayutthaya at a good pace.
It was a 45 minute boat ride, but looking at the restaurants and shops along the river reminded me of the way people lived in Ayutthaya in the past.
Although the tour is in English, I think you can enjoy it as long as you have basic English skills.

Worth doing - A big air-conditioned bus, every seat filled, took us from a central meeting place. The tour felt a bit rushed, but the guide was good and knew his stuff. It was worth it to see Ayutthaya! The river ride was scenic and they gave us bread to feed the fish.

A nice visit but our guide wasn't great - The places visited are interesting but our guide did not impress us. She was very kind and smiling but she didn't give us much information. His level of French was really not very good. We generally had a pleasant time and the boat trip at the end of the day was perfect!

Slightly misleading and rushed tour - Not the best of trips if I’m to be honest but you need to make your own minds up, however not one id recommend, expensive for not a lot…
Definately no food, as others have suggested, and you definately do not see what’s showing on the picture, we looked hard to find at the end of the trip. Somewhat misleading and the whole trip felt a bit rushed. From start to finish done in 6 hrs and not the 7 as stated..
