This excursion is designed for outdoor enthusiasts who want to bask in the pristine mountain air and take in the untouched beauty of Iceland at its finest. Breiðamerkurjökull is a segment of Vatnajökull, Europe’s biggest glacier, and glacier hiking is the ideal method to explore this spectacular natural wonder while marveling at the stunning mountain panoramas. We gather at Jökulsárlón and journey for 30 minutes in a jeep to our starting location. Here, all participants are equipped with the requisite safety gear and given instructions by the guide, which are crucial for navigating the glacier.
