Glacier hike - Marc was a great guide with lots of interesting facts about the glacier. It was fun using crampons! We felt very safe with the team.

Michèle and the Dutchies on the glacier - Michèle helped us discover the most beautiful spots on the Falljökull (offshoot of the Vatnajökull) safely and caringly: the ice cave, gorge and beautiful rain rivers.

Amazing glacier hike! - We loved our time on the glacier. Our guide, Martin, was knowledgable and also took care to ensure we were safe while also seeing as much as possible. His passion for hiking, nature, and immense care for his guests shined through. His knowledge and joy for learning made this such a memorable and exceptional experience. Thank you Martin!

Great tour with an experienced guide. - This year's winter hike was awesome. They include an amazing sapphire blue crevice to explore, which was one of the most beautiful things I saw in Iceland. The tour was unrushed and well planned, with safety as a priority. I recommend a moderate fitness level, as we saw someone struggle. Troll Expeditions handled it well, having enough groups that the person could go down with a different group. They did a nice job of staggering groups so that there was support and space.

Fantastic! - Insane experience! We left with a group that was split into two groups of eight people after a short bus ride. We received clear instructions and interesting information about the glacier and the surrounding area from our nice guide Frederico. As far as we're concerned, it should have lasted even longer!

Nothing special - A very commercial trip. 50 people on the bus. Triumph of form over content. A simple walk on the glacier, if you have crampons, it's worth going on your own and not overpaying. During the journey, not a word about the glacier, the uprising, etc. The guide was very nice, but I expected a little more knowledge, but nothing surprised me.

Basic…. - Very basic and more standing around waiting then actual hiking. It was very windy that day which might have impacted the tour, but would have been better had they canceled tour.

Excellent tour, awful to deal with the company itself - The glacier hike was extraordinary, surreal, wonderful. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. The company itself, another matter. There are many tour companies to choose from. I would recommend NOT Troll Expeditions. The company is prone is (kindly said) false advertising (and not so kindly said 'bait and switch')... random "fees", and they seem to make up "policy" as they go to justify their actions. Not a good experience, BUT they are VERY nice about all of this. Even when it's a weather related cancelation (ie. not your choice or fault) they charge a 3% transaction fee for refunds...but not always...hence the "random". Corrections take endless communication and pursuit. There are so many choices, pick someone else! Iceland is an amazing place- beautiful in a surreal way. For me, once in a lifetime experience. Why choose inauthenticity?
