Highlights
  • Jökulsárlón - The Tour:
Your journey will begin by meeting your driver guide and the biggest custom-made super jeeps in Iceland! We depart from the Glacier Lagoon and drive for about thirty minutes or as close as we can get to the glacier.
Once we arrive at the parking we need to walk for about twenty minutes (1,5 km) to the glacier and the entry of the cave. Before entering, your guide will go over some safety issues and provide you with helmets and crampons if conditions require them.

Important information:
As the ice caves we visit are completely natural they change very quickly and the conditions in the cave for each tour may therefore vary. The caves are in constant change from the moment they form until they disappear again. With that said, the cave will look different every week depending on the weather and the time of year you choose to visit. Colors can range from blueish green to crystal, to completely black ice.

Exceptional and safe adventure into the unseen world of glaciers. - By far our favorite memory of our trip. At first we didn't really know what to expect, but as we starting our walk we were engaged with the science, history, and beauty of the glacier. We were lucky enough to climb into a Moulin, which is a spiral blue cave in the middle of the glacier that was formed from the melting pattern of the glacier. I have never seen anything more beautiful. Our tour guide, Ilga, was so special and made our excursion that much more unique.

Amazing experience - We started not knowing what to expect this time of the year. Within two week, the ice caves are probably gone. An amazing guide, Javier, took the time to explain, took very nice pictures inside a beautifull ice cave. We loved this trip!

Best afternoon!! - We had an absolute blast at the tour this afternoon!! Our tourguide (unfortunately I don‘t remember his name, but he had the cutest dog with him) was super nice and gave us a lot of information about the glacier. Thanks a lot for this experience!!

Highly recommend and would do it again! - We absolutely loved this tour! The guides were accommodating and super nice, the one we had was also very very knowledgeable about the glacier and told us so many interesting facts about Iceland, the glacier, and geology in the area. They were very safe, the super-jeep was awesome and we saw wild reindeer on our way to the glacier! Our guide made sure everyone was safe at all times and enjoying themselves, and became our personal photographer lol which was really nice of him. Just a few tips though for the tour: absolutely bring a warm jacket and snow pants or water proof pants, hiking shoes are recommended but you'll get crampons, wear 2 pairs of socks and super warm clothes, and bring a hat and water proof gloves. It's a long tour to be freezing your butt off for not dressing properly. You will also receive a helmet and a headlamp along with the crampons. Heads up though if you have mobility issues this is not the tour for you, it's a lot of uneven walking and some crouching.

Amazing experience! - I had such a great time on this tour! The ice caves and glacier were stunning, truly unlike anything I’ve witnessed before. I was lucky enough to go on a tour with Holt, who was incredibly knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and patient (and great with the camera). Thanks for such a great experience!

Amazing ice cave - David did a great job taking us through the cave and put onto the glacier. He explained how glaciers and ice caves form. He was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions kindly. The ice cave was amazing. Plenty of room to stand up, but some places we had to crouch for a little bit. We didn't mind, tho, it was so beautiful.

Great experience but not worth the price - The experience was amazing but definitely not worth the price. Our guide was lovely and very informative and the caves themselves were stunning and there was moments for photo opportunities. However, we felt it did not live up to this steep price, we felt it should’ve been cheaper or it should’ve also included a chance to walk on the actual glacier itself more. Additionally, the cave was filled with other tour groups and we were having to wait around for groups to move around before we could actually see anything.
