Fabulous experience in spite of the rain! - Feeding the reindeer, especially the new baby, was a real treat! Graham was very patient with our group of 11, answering questions from both children and adults thoroughly and clearly on our walk through the woods. Highly recommend!

Great Family Time with Reindeer - Graham was the most gracious host who patiently educated our group about reindeer life, local flora and fauna, and the homestead’s history. We enjoyed every minute, including the delicious homemade jams.

Out if the ordinary experience! - This was incredible! Not only did we get to see reindeer, touch them and walk with them. We also had a very special tea time in a historic log building. And during all of it, we learned so much; about reindeer, homesteading, local flora…

Misty Morning - Welcomed by the dogs and Graham to his lovely woodland home in Talkeetna. Enjoyed interacting with the animals and conversing with Graham about life in Alaska. We watched the video and had some refreshment after our time outside. A very pleasant morning!

A Fun Walk through the Forest - What a fun tour! Graham introduced us to Lars and the girls and we soon took a walk through the forest with Lars and the pups. Graham pointed out edible plants along the way and told us about the life cycle of the reindeer and his family's plans for a small herd in their future. The cabin was quirky, cute, and comfortable and Graham provided a slide show of their different attempts at raising domestic animals. After our walk, we were offered smoked salmon, reindeer sausage, crackers and cheese, and teas and water. Graham was relaxed and pleasant and we never felt hurried.

Homestead Heaven - I had an awesome time with Graham and the reindeer! Relaxing walk through the forest learning about plants to make teas with, berries to eat and if the reindeer don’t eat the mushrooms neither will I!! Lol. Fantastic nibbles at the end too!

Wonderful Surprise! - What a treat! We saw "the Alaskan Cistene Chapel," enjoyed a slide show of the beginning, got to know the owner, walked the forest with the owner and one of his reindeer (on a lead), saw the reindeer foraging naturally and eating things we didn't know they ate, and were accompanied by the scouting dog. We learned lots about edible forest treats and homesteading and ended with delicious treats from nature. Truly a trip worthwhile!
