Fishing and snorkeling - We had a great experience and Norvel was a great captain. We caught 7 black tuna (which we released) and tried for some mahi-mahi but didn’t catch any mahi-mahi. We went ~4–5 miles off but stayed where land was still visible. Then we went snorkeling and saw lots of fish and sea urchins. The ride to snorkeling was a little rough because the wind picked up but no one got really sea sick and we spotted a humpback whale and watch it for a few minutes. Norvel snorkeled with us and showed us the best viewing spots. We then headed back and all in all the trip was about 4.5 hours. We all got wet on the way back because of the way the wind blew the wake but no one minded since we had just snorkeled. We booked this one because we wanted to do both fishing and snorkeling rather than just a single activity and Norvel delivered!

Awesome experience - We had and amazing trip with Novel. He hooked a fish, but it got off. He took us to an amazing snorkeling spot where we all saw tons of fish. He showed us an eel, lobster, and caught an orange /yellow puffer fish and a sea cucumber , we all got to hold them. It was an excellent experience!!!

A Great Day Fishing! - Despite a rainy day, we had a great fishing adventure on "Sea Life." We are used to long hours on a boat trolling in hopes to catch something, and our guide did not disappoint. Our daughter was able to reel in a sailfish and my husband and uncle each caught a mahi mahi. It was so nice to have the whole boat to ourselves for a pretty fair price. We will definitely book again next time we are in Tamarindo! Thank you for a great day.

Perfect for families. - Our captain Marvell was amazing. He showed us some really neat fish and a turtle when we were snorkelling and took us fishing after. We all caught a fish. He was super friendly. Great experience with just our family.

Family fun - We are a family of four, with two kids ages 7 and 11. We had the option to do snorkeling and coast fishing or deep sea fishing. My kids really wanted to catch a fish to eat, so deep sea it was. We drove out to sea for about an hour, saw some turtles and dolphins on the way, then started fishing and pretty quickly caught two mahi mahi, which was very exciting! Just about when we were going to call it done, we hooked a black tuna. My kids each reeled in a fish! We took the mahi mahi direct to the Chingurita restaurant where you are dropped off, and they cooked it fresh. Muy bueno! Juan Pablo was very gracious and communication was wonderful for pick-up. The boat captain was also very kind.

Incredible fishing and snorkeling tour - I went with 3 of my friends and we had a fantastic time! Juan Pablo was very flexible when it came to departure time and the captain and his first mate took very good care of us! We would absolutely do this tour again! I highly recommend these guys.

Good but not great private snorkelling trip - We had a fun snorkelling trip with our family of 5 (kids aged 14, 12 and 9). However, due to our lack of Spanish and the captains limited English we couldn’t communicate that well and trip was less interactive and fun than it could have been. We snorkelled in two places in the same bay and did see one stingray and various fish (and the captain also dived in and showed us a puffer / porkupine fish) and turtles sticking their head above the water on the way back (but not whilst snorkelling). Trip was shorter than we expected and we were back after three hours. Also be prepared to get very wet whilst on the boat. It is a relatively small boat and we got absolutely soaked from the spray on the way out and back.

Not a Fishing Trip!!! - If you choose the fishing option, note, you will spend most of the time trolling for bait. The boat and crew were great but the price paid to fish was a waste. I ended up taking a nap while my husband patiently waited to see where things were going. This seem to be more of a sailing expedition for beginners on a fishing boat than a fisherman’s day at sea.

Pick a different company. - We were scheduled for a deep sea fishing tour and upon arrival there was no knowledge of us having a tour even though I had tickets. The owner of the company stated that he had plans to take his family out. After conversation, he stated that we could go instead, but once we were in the boat, the captain said he had no bait to fish, so the only portion we could do was snorkel. He did the best he could, but it wasn't what we expected. Totally the owners fault. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone!

NOT WORTH THE PRICE - The drivers started out pretty slow and they caught a decent sized tuna and let us reel it in which was cool. They then proceeded to drive in circles with the fishing rods hooked up to the back so the line was dragging along trying to hook onto stuff. They did this for 3 hours and when not a single thing caught the line they decided to give us 1 fishing rod (there were 5 of us and they had lots of spare rods) and used pieces of the tuna as bait. None of us know how to fish and we told them that and they gave us little to no instruction on what to do. We tried to pass the fishing rod around but after like 20 minutes they said it was time to go and they took the rod and drove us back. Only 3 of us got to use it, 1 of which was only able to reel in the tuna they caught, and they didn’t give us enough time for the last 2 of our group to have a turn. Definitely not worth $400.
