Musee de la Kasbah - The Kasbah Museum showcases the key elements of Tangier’s material culture and its surrounding region. The exhibition is divided into three sections, following a route that respects the architecture of the Palace. It highlights the significant role this region has played in the interactions between Africa and Europe, serving as a passageway between the two continents via the Strait of Gibraltar and a hub for meetings and exchanges in the western Mediterranean.

Moshe Nahon Synagogue - The Moshe Nahon Synagogue in Tangier, Morocco, was built in 1876 and renovated in 1994, now functioning as a Jewish museum. There were not enough Jewish men left to form a minyan. In 1956, Tangier had 17 synagogues with 17,000 participants.

Place du Grand 9 Avril 1947 - Once a bustling marketplace known as the Grand Socco, this area in the heart of Tangier was filled with traders, buyers, snake charmers, musicians, and storytellers. It remains busy and noisy, serving as a central meeting point for travelers exploring the city.

Bab Al Fahs - This main gateway to the south of the medina connects the old city with the new one. It opens onto the Plaza del Gran Socco, also known as Plaza del 9 de Abril. The gate leads to the souk, separated from the square by a wall with limestone blocks arranged in a Roman style, suggesting its ancient origins. Bab Fahs, meaning “inland” in Arabic, was the entrance to the interior and surrounding countryside.

Mendoubia Garden - The Mendoubia Gardens in Tangier are among the city’s most tranquil spots, filled with various flowering plants and beautiful trees. It is a place to enjoy peace and quiet at any time of day. The gardens feature a banyan tree said to be over 800 years old, along with other trees, plants, and shrubs that have been there for more than 300 years.

Mosque Mohammed V - Tangier is rich in history, with one of the most significant events being the visit of the late Mohammed V in 1947. On April 10, 1947, Sultan Mohammed Ben Youssef, accompanied by Crown Prince Moulay Hassan, delivered a historic speech claiming the country’s independence from French authorities and its territorial integrity.

Tangier American Legation Museum - Located in the medina of Tangier, the Tangier American Legation Museum is the first American public property outside the United States. It commemorates the cultural and historical diplomatic relations between the United States and Morocco. Now known as the Tangier American Legation Institute for Moroccan Studies, it serves as a cultural center, museum, and research library focused on Arabic language studies.

Murailles Historiques - Tangier’s walls feature thirteen access gates and seven defense batteries, including square bastions, polygonal and semicircular towers, occasional watchtowers, and a path for patrols.

Place Faro - At the start of Boulevard Pasteur, Plaza de Faro features several Portuguese cannons and offers stunning views.

Les Escaliers du Bab Bhar - Offering unparalleled sea views, Bab Bhar, meaning “gateway to the sea,” is one of Tangier’s most famous gates, linking the medina walls to the port. Located near the stairs leading to the American Legation, the gate was built by the Portuguese between the 14th and 17th centuries. It overlooks the old tanneries, donated to the city by Pasha Alil in the 17th century, now in ruins.

Café Hafa - Overlooking the sea, Café Hafa is a legendary meeting place for intellectuals.

Medina of Tangier - During a visit to the Old City, one can wander through its ancient alleys for over two hours, stopping at the oldest mosques, Christian churches, and Jewish shops. The tour includes visits to the vegetable and fish market, traditional craft shops, and spice shops. Lunch can be enjoyed in the Old City.
