Embark on a journey to Mount Etna, Europe’s tallest active volcano. Travel comfortably in a GT Bus. Our multilingual local guide will accompany you during the excursion. As part of the approximately hour-long drive, the guide will provide comprehensive historical, geological and volcanological information about Etna. You’ll be able to observe different forms of plant life such as: orange trees, vineyards, chestnut woods and pine forests. Upon reaching Rifugio Sapienza, situated at 2,000 meters, you’ll have around two and a half hours to explore the Silvestri Craters independently, shop for mementos or go for a leisurely walk. If allowed by the authorities, you may have a chance to reach the summit zone set at 2,750 meters using a cable car and a 4x4 minibus. The cost of this ticket is not included and must be settled on the day. We expect to be back in Taormina in the early part of the afternoon. Note: Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for walking.
