Excellent Half Day Tour - Really excellent half day tour to the ancient capital of Mtskheta and the Chronicle of Georgia. Our guide, Khato, was absolutely fantastic. Her knowledge of the places that we visited was impeccable and she also shared a great deal of other helpful and interesting information about the country, history, culture, food, etc. We really enjoyed our time with her. At the end of the tour, she dropped us at a restaurant she had recommended for lunch - which was also excellent. We highly recommend this tour for those looking for a half-day excursion from Tbilisi, with plenty of time to see the ancient capital and still half a day left for other wanders around Tbilisi.

Must do tour - I would count this experience amongst the “ must do “ tours. We took a post lunch slot when the sun was not so intense & got back well in time for an early dinner. The views are surreal - you just can’t stop clicking pictures! The drive is very smooth; at the sites. It’s nice to just sit down & take in the beauty of the surroundings. Our guide Alexei narrated interesting bits of Georgian history & that helped us understand & appreciate the cultural wealth of Georgia.

Highly recommended tour! - We had such a good time on our tour of Mtskheta and the Chronicles of Georgia with our excellent guide Tamar, and our driver Roma. They picked us up from a very convenient location, arrived early, and were super friendly. The transport was very comfortable and included water as promised. Tamar was super knowledgeable, and even went out of her way to find answers to the questions we asked her (about the engravings on the cross in Jvari, for example). She gave us some great restaurant recommendations in Tbilisi, and provided the perfect mix of historical and cultural information, even taking us to a local marketplace to try traditional Georgian sweets. I'd really highly recommend this tour!

Historic Gems of Mtshketa in Half a Day - We have the most amazing day trip to Mtskheta with our tour guide, Khatuna from Friendly GE. She picked us up from our Tbilisi hotel on time and took us around the Chronicles of Georgia monument, Jvari Monastery, and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. We also wanted to see the Shio-Mgvime monastery, and the team at Friendly added it to our itinerary without any extra cost in a display of Georgian hospitality. Khatuna was extremely knowledgeable about all 4 historic sites and gave us rich insights into the culture and traditions of the area. She also took us to secret spots from where we could get some cool photos without the crowds. Khatuna shared many interesting snippets and facts from the daily life and activities of Georgians.

The Best Way to See Mtskheta - Our tour was great. My son (19) and I learned a lot about the sites but also about Georgian history, culture, and perspectives from our guide. This was my first time hiring a private tour guide, and I found it very valuable and would do it again. Our guide was both knowledgeable and personable, and it meant a lot to my son that she went above and beyond to show him an additional place near Tbilisi that he had an interest in based on his research. Highly recommend!

Informative, interesting tour with friendly, knowledgeable local guide - We loved our day trip with Khatuna! She picked us up at our hotel and drove us around in her car with water bottles provided. She was a great conversationalist and provided interesting information about Georgian culture and history as well as the sites. It was quite hot on the day we went, and she took this into consideration and was very responsive when we wanted to sit down for a bit and get ice cream. On the way back to Tbilisi, she suggested a great restaurant to us for lunch and dropped us off there.

Nice half day tour - Mtskheta is a must visit city. The old capital has rustic feels, not so many tourist, and of course, the cathedral felt very grand and holy. Our tour guide was also amazing, very well versed on the history of the sites. Finally, we agree with our tour guide on why his favorite spot is the Chronicles of Georgia statues. Amazing structures of huge metallic pillars!

Great trip toMtskheta - Mtskheta is beyond awesome!!! Church and monastery were great, and we all love the market just right in front of Svetitskhoveli. The whole experience was brought to the best by our guide, Khato. Super friendly and fun to hang around, resourceful with all the little stories here and there, and very helpful with the elderly in our group. She made the trip even more fun by helping us bargaining the price and all during our walk through the market, which is a big plus!!! :)

She also takes really good photos, so don't be afraid to ask her to take some pics of you! This tour offers great views, both of nature and man-made structures, as well as interesting information and history. Definitely recommended.
