Highlights
  • Rezo Gabriadze Marionette Theater - Your evening walking tour of Tbilisi begins with the latest attractions near “Konka” (Old Trolley) and heads to its first stop, the unique clock tower built in 2010 by Rezo Gabriadze next to the Marionette Theatre. The tower, adorned with hundreds of tiles, features an angel that emerges every hour to ring a bell with a small hammer.

Inside the tower, there is a small mechanical puppet theatre that performs the show “The Circle of Life” twice daily at noon and 7pm.

  • The Bridge of Peace - Continue your exploration of Tbilisi by walking to the Bridge of Peace, which spans the River Mtkvari (Kura) and was designed by Italian architect Michele De Lucchi. Opened in 2010, the bridge is one of Tbilisi’s most picturesque and popular spots.

  • Rike Park - Take a stroll through Rike Park, located on the left bank of the Kura (Mtkvari). This artistically designed park, when viewed from above, forms a large-scale map of Georgia, with pathways outlining the borders of various regions. The park features attractions such as giant chess, a large white grand piano, playgrounds for children, artificial climbing walls, dancing fountains, and a children’s maze.

  • Metekhi Cathedral - Among the sites you will visit is Metekhi Plateau, where King Vakhtang Gorgasali, the founder of Tbilisi, built a fort and church in the 6th century that also served as a royal residence. The name of the church, Metekhi, dates back to the 12th century and it now overlooks Old Tbilisi with a mesmerizing statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali, the builder of Tbilisi.

  • Narikala Fortress - From Rike Park, take the cable car to Narikala Fortress, an ancient stronghold first constructed in the 4th century and repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt over the centuries. Most of the current fortifications date from the 16th and 17th centuries. The fortress was last renovated in 1996 and still stands strong, offering an unforgettable view of old Tbilisi, day or night.

  • Abanotubani - From the fortress, walk down to visit Abanotubani, which translates to the bath district. It is the oldest part of Tbilisi and is considered the site of the city’s first settlements and the legend of Tbilisi.

  • Shardeni Street - Continue your evening walk in Tbilisi from Meidani Square to Shardeni pedestrian street. These lively areas are full of cafes, restaurants, and bars where you can relax and enjoy Georgian cuisine.
