  • Monastery of Sanahin - Noah’s Land offers a tour of the Sanahin and Akhtala monasteries in the Lori district of Armenia, which date back to the 10th century. Sanahin was the administrative center and family tomb of the Kurikian Bagratids (10th and 11th centuries), as well as the episcopal residence of the diocese (until the 11th century).
  • Akhtala Monastery - The territory of Akhtali dates back to BC. It dates back to the VIII century. The historical settlement of Akhtali was known as Agaraki in the 5th century. The etymology of the name Akhtali is believed to be of Turkish origin, meaning white gate. Phhindzahank literally means copper mine. The partially destroyed Akhtali fortress was built on the foundation of the Bronze and Iron Age at the end of the 10th century by the Kyurikids.

Explore Armenia’s historical landmarks. Immerse yourself in the local culture and religion by visiting three monasteries, including Hagpati, Sanahin, and the ancient Akhtala monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Hagpati and Sanahin monasteries are closely linked and just 40 minutes apart. According to legend, these monasteries were constructed by a father and son duo of masons, with Sanahin being the older one built by the father. The name Sanahin translates to “he is older than others.” Additionally, experience traditional Armenian cuisine by being hosted by a local Armenian family.

exceeded my expectations - I recently had the pleasure of embarking on the Discover Armenia guided tour that included visits to Hagpati Sanahin and Akhtala, along with the delightful addition of a free lunch. This tour truly exceeded my expectations in every way!

We will not recommend - We will not recommend this trip. We just did not get lucky. The vehicle was old. We never got offered any lunch. They advertise it: "We will also get to know traditional Armenian cuisine, where we will be hosted by a traditional Armenian family"

Will not recommend - We had a short trip to Armenia. We had a nice driver. The vehicle was not that comfortable. “We will also get to know traditional Armenian cuisine, where we will be hosted by a traditional Armenian family”. We had no lunch offered at all
