Additional Information

Embark on a journey to Kakheti with our tour, a region in Georgia known for its stunning landscapes and excellent wines. The majority of Georgia’s wine grapes, nearly 75%, are cultivated in this region. Evidences suggest that Kakheti has a rich wine-making history dating back thousands of years. Each village in Kakheti boasts its unique wine variants like Kindzmarauli, Akhasheni, Teliani, and Mukuzani that are named after their respective places of production.

The journey to Kakheti encompasses multiple tourist attractions including the Monastery of St. Nino in Bodbe and the Sighnaghi – the City of Love. A noteworthy part of the excursion is tasting the traditional Georgian bread ‘Shoti’, traditionally cooked in a deep clay oven called ‘tone’. If you join us during the harvest period, you can look forward to a visit to one of Kakheti’s largest wine factories, where you get to taste and purchase their exquisite wines.

Total: 53 places There is a sign on the bus: No food - No drinks on the bus. There is Wi-Fi, air conditioning. There was a woman with a 10-year-old child. 9:35 left the office. They will show you how traditional Georgian bread is baked. The guide tells interesting facts throughout the trip. Tbilisi dates back to the 5th century. The territory of Tbilisi is rich in sulfur springs. The name "Tbili" is connected with this, because... This translates to "warm". East Point shopping center is the largest shopping center in Tbilisi. In the 1980s, Georgian architect Zurab Tseritelli built a column next to the airport - man and sun. He is also the author of many works - on Freedom Square there is a column with St. George the Victorious. In the suburbs of Tbilisi there is a Lilo Mall market where you can buy goods cheaper. Georgia is divided into 12 regions. Kakheti is located in eastern Georgia. There is a border with the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan. You can get to Azerbaijan by road. Kakheti is an agricultural and wine region. 70% of wines are produced in Kakheti. Chacha is a drink made from grape pomace. Traditional Georgian wines are dry. Wine is made in kvevre jugs. Saperavi - translated: coloring, giving color. The grapes are harvested from August. Winemaking is one of the main industries in Georgia. Grape juice is used to make churchkhela - without added sugar, with nuts. The best churchkhela in Kakheti. In ancient times, churchkhela was the food of warriors, because... it is nutritious. 10:52 stop in the village of Manavi, shop near the Churchella Shop road. You can try churchkhela, go to the toilet. 1 churchkhela - 5 lari. 11:11 let's go. 11:15 we drove past the Chailuri fortress, built in the 16th century. 11:22 we stopped in the village of Badiauri, near the bakery. We stopped near a bakery, saw an oven for baking bread, and you can try cheese that is made by shepherds in the mountains. 11:33 let's go. In 318 Saint Nino came to the city of Mtskheta. In 326, Christianity was recognized as the official religion. Vakhtang Gorgasari - founded Tbilisi. 12:10 stop at the Gotba Monastery. The Church of St. George was built on Nino's grave. We walk until 12:50. 12:57 let's go. 13:05 we arrived in Sighnaghi, the city of love. We walk until 14:10. Sighnag - translated as shelter. We took a group photo with the group. 13:40 we look at the fortress wall. 14:12 let's go. 15:08 arrived in Tokhliauri. To the winery. 15:28 started tasting chacha and wine. Wine tasting was carried out using glass glasses. We tasted 10 wines. 16:23 tasting ended. Let's go eat at a cafe. For two 62 lari. 17:28 let's go. The road to Tbilisi will take 1 hour.

Amazing Kakheti - Tao was amazing guide and whole tour was nicely organized. Wine tasting was better than expected and the restaurant there was the best on our trip to date. I would suggrst to board the bus on the first pickup point as we were the last ones to board and did not get the opportunity to sit togheter. Still, Kakheti is amazing region and welm worth visiting -if you get Tao as your guide, you will enjoy the trip :)
