• Memorial History of Georgia - Our next stop is the Chronicles of Georgia, a massive stone monument often referred to as the “Georgian Stonehenge” or “Georgian History Memorial.” This monument, designed and created by Zurab Tsereteli, depicts scenes from Georgia’s 3,000-year history and consists of 16 large columns, each about 35 meters tall. It was built in 1985 when Georgia was part of the Soviet Union. The top part of the columns features the most popular and powerful kings, queens, and heroes of Georgia, with an amazing panoramic view of Tbilisi Lake.

• Tsminda Sameba Cathedral - We will also visit the Holy Trinity Tsminda Sameba Cathedral, a symbol of new Georgia. The cathedral’s beauty and size are breathtaking, rising magnificently on St. Ilya Hill. At 101 meters high, Sameba is the tallest church in Georgia. Its golden dome is visible from almost any point in Tbilisi. The cathedral is part of a larger complex that includes the residence of the Patriarch, a monastery, a school of theology, an academy, and nine chapels, five of which are underground.
