Highlights
  • Jvari Church - Shortly after leaving Tbilisi, we will visit the stunning Jvari Church.

Brief information about Jvari Monastery:

Soon after Georgia embraced Christianity in the 4th century, construction of the Jvari Monastery began. The main large church was completed in the 11th century.

From Jvari Monastery, you can enjoy a magical panorama of wave-like mountains, the city of Mtskheta, and the confluence of the Aragvi and Kura (Mtkvari) rivers.

  • Borjomi Central Park - Next, we will arrive at Borjomi Central Park, where you can drink natural Borjomi mineral water, stroll through the park, or take a cable car to enjoy a breathtaking view over the city of Borjomi.

Brief information about Borjomi:

Borjomi is situated 800-900 meters above sea level.

In Borjomi National Park, you can taste real natural Borjomi water. We will then walk through the stunning park, where you will see diverse nature and a waterfall. You can also take a cable car to a plateau above Borjomi, offering stunning views of the city from the top.

  • Stalin Museum - Afterwards, we will arrive in the city of Gori, the birthplace of Joseph Stalin, and visit the Stalin House-Museum.

Brief information about the city of Gori:

Gori is located at the confluence of the Kura and Liakhi rivers in the picturesque Kartlia valley, surrounded by scenic mountains to the south and west. Although first mentioned in the 6th century, the city is best known as the birthplace of Joseph Stalin, who ruled the Soviet Union from 1925 to 1953.

  • Uplistsikhe Cave Town - After visiting Gori, we will travel to Uplistsikhe Cave Town.

Brief information about Uplistsikhe:

Located in Eastern Georgia, Uplistsikhe, meaning “Lord’s Fortress,” is an abandoned rock-hewn town that played a significant role in Georgian history. Founded around 1000 BC in the late Bronze Age, it was inhabited until the 13th century AD. Between the 6th century BC and the 11th century AD, Uplistsikhe was a major political and religious center of pre-Christian Kartli, a predecessor of the Georgian state. At its peak, it housed 20,000 people. Today, you can visit the 40,000-square-meter Shida Qalaqi (Inner City), less than half of the original town, mostly uncovered by archaeologists since 1957.

  • Svetitskhoveli Cathedral - Finally, we will return to the city of Mtskheta, the old capital of Georgia, to visit the historic Svetitskhoveli Cathedral.

Brief information about Svetitskhoveli Cathedral:

Construction of Svetitskhoveli Cathedral began in 1010 and was completed in 1029. The cathedral houses four great sanctities of the Orthodox world:

  1. The mantle of the prophet Isaiah

  2. The robe of Jesus Christ

  3. A particle of Andrew the Apostle

  4. A wooden cross containing small particles of the cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified
