Favourite day of our holidays! - We went for a half day kayaking tour with the guide Luca, who explained everything so beautifully. There were seals, a sea lion, pretty little jelly fish and even a harbour porpoise! The kayak is easy to handle and Luca helped us with everything.

Amazing way to experience the Johnstone Inlet. Thank you Bree for your expertise! - Bree was my guide, She shared so rich knowledge of the area and the indigenous people. She made my kayaking trip so delightful. She also took time to throughly explain the kayak and how to safely enjoy the experience. I would love to go with her on a 5-7 day back country kayaking trip in the future. Thank you Bree for making my adventure so memorable. All the best to you.

Best way to see nature. - My husband and I took a half day kayaking tour with North Island Kayak. Our guide was Georgia and she was great! After a quick yet thorough safety and equipment demonstration, we hit the beautiful waters of Johnstone Strait. Georgia was very knowledgeable about the geography and geology of the area. We really enjoyed how she explained unique things about area, and the culture of the native peoples. We were lucky and saw a sea otter, a seal and her pup, as well as many eagles and jumping salmon and herring. I would highly recommend this kayaking trip. The coast is beautiful and the water was calm.

Beautiful afternoon of kayaking with Lucas. - Very nice afternoon of kayaking with our guide Lucas who gave us very good advice on how to properly handle the paddle. We went to Blinkhorn peninsula and took a 15 minute break on the beach. We saw ducks, eagles and small fish jumping in front of our kayaks!

4 hours of bliss in a kayak - we want to do it again! - My wife and I booked a 4 hour morning session with North Island Kayak, hoping to get a bit closer to nature at Telegraph Cove. We were really lucky to get Brad as a guide for just the two of us for the full four hours. Although we’re used to “sit-on” kayaks, I was a bit nervous about going in a “proper” kayak with splash deck but needn’t have worried - the double kayak was really stable and i soon got used to the rudder - a real bonus! We were lucky with the weather - beautifully still conditions and mirror-like surface - but still happy to have opted to wear our waterproof jackets and woolly hats/toques. What can I say about Brad - what a fabulous guide and guy - he made the 4 hour trip into an epic experience we’ll never forget - this wasn’t just kayaking (for the Brits - it was M&S kayaking…!) -Brad made it into an ecological, geological, geomorphological, historical, political and culinary (!) experience, weaving informative descriptions of what was around us into the wider environmental issues around Vancouver Island and the west coast. Brad’s stories were absolutely unique because of his experiences, and I haven’t laughed so much in a long time and certainly not while paddling along. What did we see? The photos from a GoPro don’t do our trip justice - Fred the local sea otter - seals, porpoises shockingly close, the herring “train” going along the cliff line, multiple colours of starfish, urchins, sea cucumbers, and the pinnacle- just as we were relaxing in a kelp bed with a baby seal pup alongside us, two humpbacks blowing right behind us. A day I’ll never forget. Thanks for sharing your world in such a wonderful way - we very much hope to be back - if only for more stories!!

Great guide and beautiful area - My partner and I were on a half day tour and had a great time. My partner was new to kayaking and our guide, Brad, was very helpful getting her familiarised with the basics. We were lucky and blessed with great conditions and got some amazing encounters with some Dall's porpoises. Brad was very knowledgeable about the area historically and also the surrounding wildlife (both marine life and birds). He knew a lot of good spots to spot smaller marine life such as seals and sea otters which again made some for great wildlife encounters.
