Perfect day in the Rainforest! - A perfect day in the Rainforest! Our guide Willy came and picked us from our resort. He was also our personal tour guide. We loved leaning about Costa Rica culture on our way to the rainforest. It was about 2.5 hour drive from where we were staying but well worth it. Willy pointed out lots of wildlife and pulled over for pictures. We saw monkeys, toucan, sloths, frogs and snakes. He really loved his job and country and shared that with us. It was an amazing day and I'd recommend this tour.

Great Day! - We really enjoyed this experience. The rainforest walk was not difficult but we were glad we wore closed running shoes! Lots of steps to the waterfall but worth it! I think there are various options re length of hike - I’m guessing ours was only 1.5-2k and I wish we went further. We didn’t actually see many animals on the hike but the experience of the rainforest itself was so interesting. And then the sloth preservation area gave us the opportunity to see the animals! Allan, the guide who led us through the preservation area was amazing! He ensured we all saw each animal and then used his binoculars and our phones to help us take the most fantastic pictures. Above and beyond! His knowledge of each animal was extensive and we learned so much. The environment and the animals were always respected and we were at a safe distance (pics shared taken with binoculars so they look closer). We saw toucans, frogs, snakes, bats, insects and of course the sloths. It was a very enjoyable excursion overall!

Nature is incredible as are the local people - Grateful for an early pickup to get ahead of the crowds and heat. Our guide, David, was knowledgeable and good at answering our many questions. The waterfall is beautiful and lunch was delicious but fave part was the local farm where we saw sloths, frogs and toured their various crops. Gorgeous countryside. Only thing missing was the Tenorio hike… realized when we got home we only hiked to the waterfall and back… no viewing of any volcanic steam etc… think the waterfall/sloth/coffee tour is more popular so be sure you confirm with your guide you want the extra hike. Still an amazing experience though and glad we picked this!

Disappointed cancelled trip - They cancelled at last minute, really disappointed, do not allow to book it, if you could not handle it. I had only one day for the trip, they could not reach me by the phone, as a lot of people, they should use email instead of phone, not first time on the market.

No back up plan for reimbursement due to cancelation or emergencies. - I recently stayed at Occidental Pappagayo in Costa Rica booked the rainforest tour hike to see the sloths. The day of the tour I was told it was canceled due to the inclement weather the day before. Leo tried to sell other tours to which I declined because it involved activities that I had already did previous days. Leo asked if I can come back later on in the day for the cash (I payed by card) and I agreed. Later in the day I was told that his partner went to get the money and to come back, I obliged and when I did his partner had not yet reached so I waited. After about 1hr Leo said to me there was an issue with the bank card and they couldn't get the money and asked if I had PayPal which I don't. He told me dispute the charges with my bank I stated he can refund the money back to the card. Leo insisted that his bank does not all that. Needless to say I was given multiple reasons why the best way was to dispute the charges and also suggested that he would see how he can get me the cash from some people and he can come to room and slip it under my door. Now they are not with the hotel I'm traveling solo why would I encourage anyone to my room. I eventually made a complaint with the hotel disputed the charges with my bank. He wrote an email in agreement of being reimbursed. But my suggestion is not to book through this company because they will give excuses as to how they dont have access to get you your money and a run around. For a company like this there should always be a plan to pay customers back their money in case of cancelation or emergency.

Disappointed. - We booked this private tour with them. We paid $290 for everything. They arrived late, we did not have the lunch that came in the package, the places to visit were not the same as in the photos, the waiting times were long and the tourist guides did not come. We later learned that the company owed them money. We had to do the activities alone. For the return, the taxi driver took us hostage since the company did not pay him for the day and he had to use us as a hook to get his pay... We were 3.5 hours by car from our hotel and 1 hour from the nearest town and it was 6 p.m.. There you go... After a lot of effort, they refunded us half the price..
