Great experience even without sunrise - Sadly the weather was not the best, cloudy and foggy so we were not able to see the sunrise, but our driver made sure to make up for it. We were given a delicious breakfast, along with the best khao soi we’ve tried. It was from a local restaurant. We were never rushed and at the end to make up for the lack of sunrise we were brought to a place in chiang mai that sold jewelry and a silk factory which was super nice. During the hike we were accompanied by a local guide who was very nice and was telling us facts about the village and the trails. This was one of my favorite activities and would for sure do it again

Incredible experience - SO worth the early start! - I can’t recommend this experience enough. You get so much packed in, but plenty of time for each stage of the itinerary - it’s really well planned. We also ended up having the whole experience to ourselves, which felt incredibly special. Our driver, Ming, was so lovely and helpful. He talked us through the day as things were happening, and gave us interesting context to each experience. We also learnt a lot about Chiang Mai from him, which was really nice. Our guide from the Karen tribe was also brilliant and answered our many, many questions. The trek itself is very varied and doable in the heat - you can walk at a pace that suits you. The wildlife is great and really exciting, the coffee at the end is delicious. Overall, 10/10 and would highly recommend!

A fun sunrise hike - My friend and I was initially hesitant and skeptical to book this trip. We wanted to so a sunrise hiking and due to the Thai New Year holiday, this is the only tour we could find that fit into our itinerary. The price was not cheap, and most importantly, the reviews were extreme, either very good or disappointed. However, we decided to give it a try. Driver Ming (I hope I didn't misspell his name) picked us up at hotel on time at 4am, first drove up to the place to see the sunrise and luckily we saw it. It was really foggy on the way up the mountain but we saw the sunrise so we were happy. Then he pointed us the way to go to the summit, which was really nothing in there, and a small trail. Then we were thinking, was that it? He did prepared us a little something as breakfast so it was nice. And after that, roughly 9am, he drove us to the entrance to another trail and then that's the trekking started. We were guided by a English speaking lady from the Karen (sorry if i misspell) Tribe to walk through the trail which lead to her village, in average take around 1.5 hr depends on your speed. That was really fun. There were variety of things that we saw, like some waterfalls, rice fields etc and the trail was also not the easiest, there are up and downs, stairs etc. Then when we reached the end, we got to enjoy a local grown coffee and after the mountain party, Ming brought us to a local restaurants and we had delicious local food there before heading back to hotel. Overall the experience, both my friend and I enjoyed it! For those who like hiking I definitely recommended :)

Absolutely must do the sunrise tour!!! - The sunrise tour is an absolute must when visiting Chiang Mai. We booked a day in advance and ended up being the only guests, which was pretty special. Lee our driver was early & waiting ready with the aircon pumping in the van. We arrived to watch the sunset about 15 mins prior to the actual sunrise and the views are something we will remember forever! A light breakfast followed before a small stroll around a beautiful boardwalk birdwatching. The Twin Pagodas were something out of a movie scene as we had the entire place to ourselves due to the early start time. The whole time we were there, we didn't see another soul. Our 2 hour hike was with the most incredible local guide from the Karen village, who was most hospitable and spoke excellent english. Rice fields, waterfalls and a paddle in the local stream were a highlight of our trek. Stopping in the village for freshly ground coffee and learning some history on how coffee plantations came to be in Thailand was also fascinating. On the way home, Lee treated us to Khao Soi for lunch at a local restaurant with Thai desert. 100000/10 for both dishes! If all of this wasn't enough, we visited a local silk producer and jade shop. A long day very well spent!

A MUST DO Sunrise and adventure day - Professionally led from start to finish! Our driver Lee was early, professional and extremely accommodating. He made sure to include many pit stops for breaks and hydration and was also a superb guide, making sure we didn't miss the sunrise or any other location of merit. For our hike we had a wonderful lady from the local mountain village (unfortunately can't remember her name) she spoke amazing English and knew the land like the back of her hand. The views were awesome, educational and inspiring . Getting to see her local village and even try local harvested and roasted coffee was a highlight of my whole trip to Thailand. Lee made sure we were well fed for breakfast and lunch and got us back to our hotel safe. 10/10 day, will recommend to all. A MUST DO for tourist in Chiang Mai! Bravo

Thank you so much for an awesome day Khap Khun Krap!!! - Tour on March 28, 2024. My driver was Lee (or Li) and he was the nicest guy! He came to pick me up at my hotel at 4 am sharp. Very kind soul, always smiling, and extremely patient. He is practicing his English so sometimes it's a little difficult to understand, but we were able to converse during the whole day and I was able to understand him just fine. We arrived at Doi Inthanon around 5:45 am, enough time before sunrise for me to set up my camera and gopro to capture the beautiful sunrise. Couldn't be happier :). The weather on the mountain top in the early morning hours was chill (cold for many others), so bring a jacket. There was a reminder email the day before the tour as well. After sunrise, we took our time to enjoy a little breakfast (sweet sticky rice with coconut pudding) and some short walks nearby in the Doi Inthanon National Park. Then Lee (or Li) took me to the pagoda, which was beautiful on the mountain top. It had really a nice flower garden too. Then he dropped me off at the trail head to do a hike with a local hiking guide from the Karen tribe. It was a very nice hike. Easy, mostly downhill, can be done in 1.5 hours. Beautiful waterfalls and streams. Got to learn a little bit about the Karen tribe's traditions. I took my time on the hike, taking lots of photos and talking a lot with the guide about their customs. Then after the hike, Lee (or Li) took me to another waterfall. This one was beautiful and it was by the parking, so minimal effort. But to me, I loved the waterfalls on the hike to the Karen village more. Finally, we stopped for the best khaosoi noodle soup before heading back. I got back to my hotel around 3 pm. All in all, very happy with the tour and my driver Lee (or Li) was the best! Highly recommend for a day tour. Thank you so much for an awesome day. Khap khun krap!!!

Must do in Chiang Mai - Tour Guide was born and raised in Chiang Mai. He was very knowledgeable and friendly during our tour. Sunrise was beautiful in fire season. Make sure to wear a light to medium jacket. Twin Pagodas and flowers were a site to see. Will need to wear jacket half way through nature walk. Nature walk took about 1.5 hours. Saw multiple waterfalls, bamboo, coffee plants, cinnamon trees along the way. We got to grind coffee and have a cup at the end of the walk. Our Tour Guide made us a yummy breakfast and got us Khao Soi for lunch. Thank you soo much for a wonderful experience!

Enjoyable sunrise and jungle trek at Mt Inthanon National Park - We enjoyed our sunrise tour. Our pickup was on time and transfer car comfortable. It was lovely to see the sunrise from Thailands Mt Inthanon. The rest of the tour was interesting, visiting some lovely gardens, temples and a short walk through a rain forest up near the summit. The highlight was definitely the 2 hour jungle hike with a local hill tribe guide. A really beautiful hike. The only let down for us was a lack of engagement by our guide. Possibly due to language barriers. It was very cold up there so warm clothing is a must. Something you can take off as it does warm up particularly on the hike. I would recommend this trip.

Beautiful Scenery Poor Engish Guide - Unfortunately, like some others our guide was not Joe but the couple. While they are super nice the minimal English speaking provided more of a self tour. The driver knew only basic/very minimal English, the female guide knew more English but not enough to hold conversation or truly answer questions. There was definitely still a language barrier. Sunrise, got to spot, she pointed to food area said coffee, then pointed to where we should go to see rise. Coffee place wasnt open. Like another mentioned they will sleep in van for the hours you are waiting for sunrise. We were brought somewhere and told 'highest point' while pointing to sign to read description of place. Twin pagodas, pointing towards them and informing us she was staying down at pick up/drop off point providing no information about them. I went back and forth on this star rating because it was a beautiful day and we loved everywhere we went however I also feel a better Engish speaking guide should of been provided. For the money I don't think I would personally chance not getting Joe.

Tour was not as expected/promised - My husband and I had a disappointing experience on this tour and are pretty dissatisfied. There were two major issues with the sunrise hike that we had experienced: 1) trip was not as promised (guides skipped a portion we paid for) and 2) the guide and driver were not as engaging and did not share as much information as all other guides have. We did not learn very much at all and the tour became a self-guided tour, which is not what we paid for. To elaborate, the itinerary mentioned that we would visit Watchirithan Falls and have lunch near this waterfall. However, we did not visit the waterfall and did not have lunch near this landmark. Instead, the guides drove us down the mountain about 45 minutes and we went to a roadside stand. The food was okay but not great. We were really looking forward to seeing this waterfall because the itinerary promised it was included in our admission ticket. This was not delivered. We also got back at 1 pm and would have had plenty of time to see the waterfall (itinerary promised a return time of 2:30 pm). Very disappointing. Regarding the guides, while they were friendly and we appreciated them getting us from place to place, they were not engaging. They hardly spoke to us at all and we received no information about the twin pagodas or Thailand’s history or culture. Their answers were short and succinct when we asked questions and they did not provide details like we have had with other viator guides in Thailand. They mostly spoke with each other and the local guide on the hike with minimal interactions with us. For the sunrise portion they told us to go get coffee but the coffee place was closed and they did not tell us where to see the sunrise. We figured it out based on where others were standing but the guides stayed in the car on their phones/napping for the hour and a half we were there. We are flexible, but when we experienced other tours with engaging, funny and fantastic guides that have shared historical or cultural information, it made this experience a letdown. We expected to have a guide that could speak at least a little English and be engaging for the price we paid on this private tour. Also, we noticed on the description (which is what I based our booking decision on) there were tons of five star reviews mentioning a guide named Joe. Joe was not our guide but rather it was a couple who took us around. We wonder if that is the reason we had such a different experience than everyone else. We were very disappointed also because this was our last tour in Thailand. We did not receive the services promised and the booking description and reviews were misleading. We could have easily booked another guide or company for less money and received a more personal experience, which is what our expectation was based on the description. Sad to leave only two stars but overall we were disappointed with this experience
