Highlights

Beginning of the Mongolia journey

Erdene Zuu Monastery - Spanning a vast area, this monastery is one of the largest in Mongolia. It is a mostly intact Mongolian (Tibetan) Buddhist monastery, with particularly noteworthy wall paintings in the Western and Eastern Temples. A short walk from the rear leads to the famous tortoise and the site of Karakoram (though there’s really nothing left to see). Given its distance from Ulaanbaatar, it’s best to combine a visit with other nearby attractions. This monastery dates back to 1585, built from the ruins of Genghis Khan’s ancient capital. Today, it remains an active monastery. It’s a remarkable experience to be there in time to hear the soothing chant of the Head Priest, who attracts a large number of devotees.

The moment he began the chant, everyone seemed to enter a meditative state, swaying their bodies in rhythm with the chant.

One should visit this monastery and try to synchronize their visit with the chant timing.

History and Nature Attraction

Kharkhorin - A great introduction to the history of Mongolia. The top two floors are particularly interesting, showcasing a beautiful array of national costumes. The only drawback is the lack of English information. An English-speaking guide would enhance the experience. This place is packed with knowledge, offering information on anything you could possibly want to know about Mongolia, its culture, history, and heritage. It is very well organized, with numerous exhibitions and displays. Traditional clothing, ger culture, the history of Mongolia through the ages, the path to democracy, musical instruments, everyday accessories, and much more. Definitely recommended to visit!

Elsen Tasarkhai - Known as Elsen Tasarkhai, these are the only sand dunes found between Kharkhorin and Ulaanbaatar. Here, you can experience what the Gobi Desert might be like. It features a unique and beautiful landscape of lakes, rocky mountains, and sand dunes.

Leaving back to the city

Hustai National Park - Hustai National Park offers an unforgettable experience deserving of a solid five-star rating. The park’s stunning natural beauty and the impressive display of wildlife, particularly the Przewalski’s horses, make the trip a phenomenal adventure.

A highlight of Hustai National Park is undoubtedly the opportunity to see Przewalski’s horses in their natural habitat. This endangered species of wild horse, preserved and protected in the park, is a sight to behold. Observing these majestic animals roam freely in the wilderness is a humbling and awe-inspiring experience. Here, you can spot many herds of wild horses, known as takhis. The park is managed by an NGO, and the arrangement is very effective.

Beyond the captivating wildlife, the natural landscape of the park itself is breathtakingly beautiful. The rolling hills, dotted with various flora, offer a serene and tranquil environment that makes you feel at one with nature.

Best packages! - It was a great experience with Travel Mongolia. The packages offered by them are interesting and price friendly. We chose the best package of 3 days tour to Central Mongolia. Although it was just 3 days, we felt that we have covered quite a decent trip. So if you have just 3 days of trip time, then this is the best deal for you. We were picked up on time, travel was always precise, stay was comfortable. Our guide was really friendly and kind. It was a trip to remember!

Fallen in love with Mongolia! - We look the 3-day tour as a last minute decision. I can honestly say that it was a good decision. We have experienced a mini version of Mongolia, thanks to Travel Mongolia. A Lot of things done for the very first time like camel riding, spotting the horses, living in camps and gazing at the beauty around. I am in love with Mongolia due to this trip. Travel Mongolia is an excellent company for your travel plans to places around Mongolia.

Good package at a good price - Before going with this tour, I tried prices of several other tour operators and all of them seemed too pricy for my budget as I was on a solo trip. Then, I stumbled upon this tour and I found this great deal. I immediately paid for this tour and it was a lifetime experience for me. I didn't felt lonely even for a single minute.

It’s worth joining - It was great experience. This tour covers good interest places where is difficult for private tourist to go. The driver/guide has enough knowledge to explain the places.

Great tour, but not perfect - The tour includes everything that is promised: - very friendly and attentive guide - tour includes everything (food and tickets) - the experience with the nomadic family really is authentic The company responsible for this tour: Travel Mongolia answered all my requests and were super proactive. Why wasn’t it perfect? The only problem on the tour was that the nomadic family was not prepared to receive us. On the next day, the family would have a wedding so all the family members were very busy and could not give us so much attention. I think once the company is aware of that fact (that the nomadic family is really busy) it would be necessary to arrange another family who could provide a little more attention to the guests.

Very bad price-quality ratio (unexperienced guide, unprofessional agency, bad car quality) - Good things first: - the tour included everything what was mentioned (entre fees to national parks, authentic stay with nomadic family, full board drinks and foods) - friendly and attentive guide - private tour, as no one else had booked the same tour at the same date Some negative points, that we definitely have to share with you: - the quality of the car was very poor: very old Toyota Prius, break down of tire, air condition out of service, radio and other music out of service, bad conditions of the second (supposed to be new) tire - the guide was friendly, but not experienced: the 20-year old student is from Mongolia, was attentive, and tried to do his best. However, he was not an experienced guide and could not answer questions to history or nomadic living outside the city. Also, he could not navigate, thus we had to tell him where to go (using offline navigations). Other experienced guides, we met on the road, seem to be a lot more experienced. - after the trip, we went to the official agency office: the office seemed to be part of a nail and hair studio and no agent was around. also the hair stylist tried to call someone, but could not reach anyone. that is definitely VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! Summarizing: The trip was very authentic as promised. However, the quality is not validating the price! For the same price you can definitely find some tours with a more experienced tour guide.

DO NOT USE HIM - Bachi was fast to collect money. December 2019, I made a full payment for the Mongolia tour in May 2020. Under the agreement, I can have 100% refund when I cancelled before April 2020. Due to Covid, I need to cancel the tour in March and asked for refund. After numerous emails and empty promises from Bachi, 9 months have passed and U never get my money back. In addition, he is now uncontactable. While I understand that tourism could be worst hit by Covid. The least he could do is to reply me - and if he gives a date - to honour it.
